    • Forcing mainline passengers from services terminating at Connolly and Pearse to then switch to the Dart for one stop before switching again to the metro just seems shoddy. I know its probably cheaper and easier to build, but still ....
    • Sent me an offer out of the blue too which I have declined as 'Its basically rubbish!'
    • It will mainly be set around 1900 as most of my stock is in that period and I like the liveries. But, you are right, there will be a bit of everything if I can build it! Thanks David. Should keep me busy for a few years. I already have the single and double slips, recovered from Kilbrandon. And a lever frame and a few huts. And I have been making a few building carcasses. So, its already slowly coming together.
    • This is my first attempt at weathering vans, using various dilute acrylic washes.  I may have gone a bit overboard, but after looking at some prototype material, it’s clear that some of these vehicles were truly filthy in their final years.  The recent offerings from Provincial Wagons are solid and great runners, but the black chassis needs repainting to match the wagon body, so I’ve done that before toning it all down with weathering.  My problem now is that these will be running behind pristine ex-works locomotives…… not sure I’m brave enough yet to tackle that!!! Two of Leslie McAllister’s excellent recent offerings, both have had their black chassis painted grey, but only the one on the right has been fully weathered.   Various vans here from Provincial Wagons and JM Designs.
    • Most coaches can be mixed and matched,  the main thing to remember is the very early MK11's (not MK2a onwards) were vacuum braked only i think??    Also MK1's were mostly vacuum braked some I think being dual braked. MK3's there are two versions, the loco hauled and the HST  main difference the HST MK3s had 3 phase electrical systems and no buffers. On your layout if in doubt just apply rule 1    Some good information in these PDF books. https://archive.rcts.org.uk/product-category/coaching-stock-books/
