    071 fleet overhaul updates.

oh you big tease! I was thinking either black and tan or A class silver would've looked the part! 😂 Sounds good all the same!
  2. Hi everyone, Just a reminder; we will be at the Great Electric Train Show at Arena MK, Milton Keynes this weekend on stand 63. On our stand we will have pre-production samples of two new Accurascale models; one is rolling stock, and one is an accessory. We will be able to take pre-orders for the rolling stock online and at the show. On top of our new Accurascale announcement we will have pre-production samples of the Cemflo and our 7mm HUO to see in public for the first time. We can take pre-orders on both at the show too. As well as that we will have packs of our pre TOPS HUOs and buffer accessory packs for sale on the day, and (hopefully with a bit of luck!) a very limited supply of the new TOPS and NCB packs of our HUOs. We're currently trying our best to arrange logistics on that. We'll keep you posted! Finally we will also have samples of our IRM models, with pre-production plough van and Tara Mines on display and orange cement bubbles available to buy. Patrick and I will be on hand to chat and answer questions and queries, so make sure you stop by and say hi! We look forward to seeing you there! Cheers! Fran

    IRM Plough Preordering Now Open!

We will get some more of it and start a wee thread on it in the next few weeks. It will also be attending some future shows all going well! All the handiwork of our very own @Glenderg, the weathering really brings them to life!

    IRM Plough Preordering Now Open!

Have you ordered your plough vans yet? We have seen a surge of orders since we unveiled our pre-production sample from our Chinese factory across all three liveries, none of which are the NIR blue above! They sure do look good with ballast wagons though! We have requested some changes to be made to the tooling to improve finesse but they are still on track to be with us later in 2018. Don't miss out, order yours today: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/ballast-plough Cheers! Fran

Would definitely love to see 131 come out to play down here, but I'm looking forward to the 121 returning the most tbh!

Thanks Graham, as Stephen says there is lots going on behind the scenes, and we are flat out to get stuff ready for Raheny and beyond. We will open the book on the fert preorders possibly tomorrow, as we get closer to delivering them. As Stephen says they will be here this side of CNY all going well (natural phenomenon aside!) as well as the other goodies which will arrive throughout 2019. If anything everyone's wallets will get a breather too, which helps! We will have goodies to show at the 3 day show, along with our new announcement as well as bubbles and Accurascale stock for sale. Our stand will be well worth a visit!

Preorders of IRM Tara Mines Wagon begin this weekend

Hi everyone, As you may already know by now, our highly anticipated Tara Mines wagons were due to leave our factory in China a couple of weeks ago for their long journey to Dublin. In fact, they did leave the factory, and headed to the airport for their first of two flights. Unfortunately, nature took its course and as a result of a ‘Super Typhoon’ hitting the model railway manufacturing region of China, our delivery of Tara’s was delayed. All flights were cancelled, and as a result our consignment missed the connecting flight from Beijing. As a result of the storm itself, the fall out and damage caused to local infrastructure, getting them out of China was impossible for a number of weeks. China's logistics channels is also amid all the Christmas market stock leaving the Far East for Europe, so it is currently logistics silly season and getting a new slot on a plane proved quite the challenge. The good news is that we have finally secured a way for them out of China after much searching around, phone calls, emails and annoyance of several logistics managers. The not so good news is that there was no space available by air, and instead they are travelling by sea. This means that they will now arrive in approx six weeks time. Apologies for this delay, but sadly nature is something we can’t legislate for in this instance. We will keep you up to date and will have more news when we have it. We are just as disappointed as you are, and we really wanted them here for the three day show in Raheny in October, but it's just the way it goes. As compensation, we will have plenty to see at the show, including an additional new model announcement on Saturday, October 27th, so make sure you come and see us! Thanks, IRM Team (Fran, Patrick, Richard and Stephen) (this has been emailed to all Tara Mines customers we have email addresses for ahead of publishing here.)
  9. Hi Noel. It is hauled only. the end coach is an observation coach, not a DVT. Thanks, Fran

Hi everyone, Just to give you an update on this; we're still working on it. With the Christmas rush it's proving difficult but we should have some proper news on this over the next couple of days. Apologies for this and thank you all for your patience. We're doing everything possible to get it sorted. Cheers, Fran
  11. Hi everyone, Our first Accurascale model, the HUO hopper, is up for the award of Hornby Magazine's 'best OO wagon / coach' of 2018. It would be great to give us a vote should you think we're worthy! The closing date is Oct 1st and there are some excellent prizes on offer to everyone who places a vote! https://hornbymagazine.keypublishing.com/2018/09/13/hornby-magazine-model-railway-awards-2018/ Cheers! Irish Railway Models 21mm Conversions

Hi Kevin, We understand that but the other option would be a retool of the chassis which would likely incur a significant price increase I'm afraid. We can investigate it nearer the time of production but we have plenty of other stuff to get through first. Cheers, Fran

    IRM Plough Preordering Now Open!

Hi everyone, To compensate for the disappointing news about the Tara delay due to the super typhoon, here's the first engineering sample of the ploughs from the factory in China. The factory has painted it in NIR blue for some reason! Overall there is a lot to like but some changes required too. These will be conveyed back to China and changed before we received decorated samples. Please note that fit and finish isn't up to the usual standards of a fully factory finished model, that finesse comes later! Cheers! Fran
