Model railway items (parts from three sets)

Thanks Horsetan for the comments. Yes; the FS was driven by the tender. And yes; I expect all that is required is a simple screw to reattach the front bogie on the loco. The detail on the Hornby is very good; top quality. I'm only going on memory, but I thought that little Lima was nippy enough (but I bow to your greater knowledge on that one). Much appreciated...

Model railway items (parts from three sets)

These are the other images which I couldn't attach to the first message.
  4. You get everything that you see in the photos. Flying Scotsman (Hornby), Lima SNCF loco (bought in Italy) and the red Canadian loco, 3 coaches for the Flying Scotsman, a coach for the Lima and a goods wagon for the Canadian. Battery box for Lima, power block for Hornby. Some track from the three sets, some straight track and a junction piece, viaduct supports (one or two missing), damaged track etc. (see photos). I can't say what works and what does not. All I can say is that the last time (6 months ago) these were set up the Lima and the Canadian locos (which has a cool headlight) worked. The FS worked too, but was very slow going around the track. Since then, however, you can see that the front set of wheels have become detached from the FS loco, and a spring has popped out. I cannot guarantee that any of these locos work now, but all 3 worked until relatively recently, and my guess would be that the Canadian and Lima will work straight off. The FS will need a bit of work, but I expect it is a relatively easy fix for somebody with some skill with these locos (but I can't guarantee that). (Horsetan suggests a simple screw fix). €180 cash for all of this if collecting; €200 if posting to Ireland. More to post abroad. PM if interested. More photos below this message. Email me (northwicklowbooks@gmail.com) or PM if interested... Cash or paypal is preferred. The first photo, below, shows everything.

    Butt's Directory of Railway Stations

Hi Noel, Sorry; no it does not. It is a directory, so contains information about the opening/closing/modification of all stations in Ireland and UK. See photos for the type of information it contains in its 295 pages. It would be more useful to the railway historian perhaps? It is mostly text but with photos of some stations (mostly UK ones) and tickets. RCB
  6. R.V.J. Butt, The directory of railway stations (Ireland and Britain). Very good condition. Some relevant newspaper clippings included; two stapled to the relevant pages. Contains some annotations in ink on the first few pages (I think on 4 pages only), and owners name on first page. Five copies of this book currently available on abebooks.com, at prices from $145-$221.26!!! Price here: €100 (including P&P in Ireland; international postage extra). You won't get it cheaper than that now. Paypal the preferred option. Message me or email RedCapBooks@gmail.com. Like my facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011114911192) to keep in touch. I am posting some interesting photos of books and historical items there every day.

    5 annotated railway books

Hi, Anybody want to take these 5 great books for €28 (payment by paypal preferred; this will cover postage in Ireland, but international postage will be extra). All have annotations in ink on a handful of pages, but not many (I've deliberately chosen the photo below to show the worst pages in each). It doesn't impact on the reading of the books at all. All are full of photos etc. You get: * J. D. Fitzgerald, The Derry Road * Des Fitzgerald, The Warrenpoint Branch * Jack Johnston, The Clogher Valley * Tom Ferris, The Irish narrow gauge, vol. 2, The Ulster lines * W. W. shepherd, The Midland Great Western Railway (slight nick/tear on spine) Most heavily annotated is Shepherd's, but only the first 25 pages have ink notes. Photos or maps generally untouched. Paypal is easiest - message me if not prepared to use paypal. First come first served. RedCapBooks

    Railway books for sale

Ok - so the following are sale agreed: * Bord na Mona * CIE and NI railway system * Johnson's Railway atlas. Only Butt's Directory remains at the moment. It's expensive, but as noted in the initial post, this is the cheapest price that is available online; I would be interested to see if anybody could identify a good copy anywhere else at even near to this price.
