  1. Bachmann Europe are pleased to announce that we are producing a Branchline OO scale model of the Class 812 0-6-0 steam locomotive for Rails of Sheffield. The announcement was made today at the Model Rail Scotland show in Glasgow, following an agreement being reached with the Caledonian Railway 828 Trust. The following models are now available to pre-order with Rails of Sheffield (£30 deposit required): No. 828 in Caledonian Railway Blue livery (as preserved) No. 828 in Caledonian Railway Blue livery (as originally built) No. 17566 in LMS Black livery No. 57565 in BR Black, Early Emblem livery (weathered) No. 57566 in BR Black, Late Crest
  2. As you may know, Hornby announced doing an OO Gauge BR Standard Class 6 'Clan' Pacific model in 2009, and between that and 2010, they made three Clan models, which are: R2846/X BR Standard Class 6 Clan 72000 'Clan Buchanan' in BR Lined Green Early Emblem R2847/X BR Standard Class 6 Clan 72008 'Clan Macleod' in BR Lined Green Late Crest R2925/X BR Standard Class 6 Clan 72005 'Clan Macgregor' in BR Lined Green Late Crest But, while searching through the Hattons Model Railway a few weeks back I came across this: http://www.hattons.co.uk/34571/Hornby_R2969_Clan_Class_4_6_2_72002_Clan_Campbell_BR_will_feature_as_part_of_the_Hornby_2011_/StockDetail.aspx It turns out Hornby was going to make a fourth Clan model: 72002 'Clan Campbell' in BR Lined Green Late Crest! It's product description from Hattons is, and I quote: "This item was announced in the Hornby Collectors club magazine in August 2010. The item was then planned to be part of the 2011 range but was not amongst the items announced on December 25th 2010." Took me by surprise!
  3. Welcome to the forum page on my HO/OO Gauge Layout Project: 'Great British Carlow', a British spin-off layout based on Carlow Railway Station in Ireland, set on the London Midland Region of British Railways during the last years of steam from 1955 when the Modernisation Plan was published to the end of steam in 1968. Keep up to date on progress of this layout here, as well as on the workbench session of this forum.
  4. The first building for my 'Great British Carlow' layout is complete in the form of the Petrol Station. See images below. I am currently working on the petrol pumps to go with it. Images of the pumps coming soon. watch this space!
