    Models demand

Hello, colleagues! My name is Eugen, am an engineer from Moldova (former Soviet Union). I am going to migrate to Ireland and apart from main work I would like to establish a small casting workshop. Nowadays I produce some Russian (Soviet) railway models (loko72.com). So, please, I ask Your advice if there is the demand in Ireland for production of local railway cars, local buildings (they can also be produced as remembrances), structures etc? Thanks a lot!
  2. Here's a very interesting website - Britain From Above! There are plenty of photos from the 1930's to the 1950's, and there are plenty of photos of Ireland! You have to register, which is free, but after that, there is an amazing wealth of information to be found. Here are just two examples: - O'Connell Street, Dublin in 1933, and Tralee, County Kerry in 1934. The images are zoomable once you register and you can zoom in closer than what I have posted. The detail is amazing! This looks like a fantastic resource for us modellers! The website is www.britainfromabove.org.uk Eamonn

    Modelling the Bord na Mona

Gday all, Live in Australia and fell in love with the bord na mona peat bog railways on a visit to my girlfriends home in Waterford last year. I have started modelling a layout 9 foot by 3 foot in On16 and need some help in getting a sense of scale for the models. If anyone has any plans or the ability to do simple measurements it would really be appreciated, specifically the wagons and locos such as the simplex and railmotors. I will keep all updated with the building process and thank all for the inspiration I have gained of your threads. Glad to be able to share with like minded people and will pick your brains for tips and tricks as I go if thats ok. Phil
