snapper
Radio news reported today that services on the Cork line services through Kildare were running with 1 hour delays due to a technical problems on a freight train. Wondering did anyone else hear what the problem was? The north wall to Ballina liner failed on the down line between Kildare and Cherryville junction. They established single line working around the failed train on the up line while a spare engine was sent from Inchicore. The failed train was then hauled to Portarlington where the failed engine was removed.

Sulzer201
Thanks Snapper that was a bit of a headache for operations. Given those circumstances the delay does not seem to have been too severe.
