The loco was in a box for about 30 years. I took it out recently and put it on some track and it wouldn't go at all. So I took it apart, gave the wheels a good clean, and added a few drops of oil, and gave it a run in, and it's running reasonably smoothly now (though still not great at slow speeds). I'm not sure whether I was the first owner, but by the sound of things, they had been sitting on a shop shelf a few years if I was. Above was diecast bogie triang motor. Did R768 CIE hymek made plastic bogie with Ringfield (silver seal) motor in late 1977/eary 1978? here is the service sheet date 1978 showing R768. I remember them as distributors of electrical appliances, and specifically remember they distributed Bush Televisions. Mainly electrical wholesalers but were listed in the Tri-ang Hornby official service dealers list I see it says Shanowen Rd Whitehall! Trying to be posh. This is going to be something else altogether. I dream one day about having a 10ft x 2ft shunting layout with a 141 and a few of 2 axle CIE wagons.
