Hi guys

I did some ballasting during the week

It's a bit heavy in places but that's not impossible to fix:)

In other news I've begun to scratch build an 071 with plasticard and am converting one of my mk 4 conversions to a cafe/bar mk 3

I've also started on the mould for the concrete

I think you need to redo this bit as I can't see to many trains passing over this section there's to much of a sharp angle on it you may need the bigger diamond crossing.

The trains go over it fine

I only have a problem with one engine and that's it

That's amazing I don't know how they cross over that anyway this is what you need http://www.ehattons.com/7740/Peco_Model_Railway_Products_SL_94_Long_crossing_insulfrog/StockDetail.aspx

They cross over it because I have put a small piece of track on the fishplate and that fixes the problem for all of my stock except my Hornby Dean goods ,which has a very big wheel and only sometimes derails, and I will add some more safety features just to be sure

When you say all of your stock apart from the Dean goods goes over the diamond crossing, does that include all freight stock and coaches? It could well be the angle of the photo, but it looks too sharp to me to accommodate a rake of wagons without a derailment. If all of your stock cross over it without a problem, then happy days!

Yep I think everything passes over it it also a bit down to the speed and the way I push the wagons/coaches/locos along as the points aren't yet powered and the crossing is between two of them

Short term gain long term pain, you should think about relaying that area as its going to cause a head ache in the future plus it does,nt look good at all.

The other guys have given you really good advice and I will agree with them that in the long run that is going to cause problems. You may think it is OK now but it won't be when temperatures change and things begin to move. For your own sake and any other future problems change it now and save a lot of hassle in the future. Anthony's given you a good link to something that will solve the problem and it is well worth doing. Other than that it's looking lovely and you are making great progress.

I layout news nothing new has happened in the last month

I've only done a few little things as opposed to my plan to be doing the point motors now

The only news is that I've decided to g back from using Roco coulpers to using Kadee's and that I've made the track on the long curve where the station will be more parrallel with each other and tidied up the ballasting
