Good work with the station Anthony.

Although thats something I could never do. I'd feel I was ruining it but with what you've done I can see thats not true.

It can be nerve wrecking sometimes when you have something new in front of you that your about cut etc. I've started the second platform and been taken photos as I go along. It works out a lot cheaper than buying the equivalent in the shops and also a lot better looking so I hope to get the photos posted up here over the weekend so some of you guys can have a go for yourselves :-bd

Well after painting over 20 of the new freight liveried 071's for a lot of you guys it was finally time to do one for myself. I went for 077 the reason was that 077 never entered service with newly painted bogies as they were swapped out at the last minute for a refurbished set which were not painted grey. So this in itself made for an interesting model all new and shiny but with weathered bogies. Also the new cabs have different rain strip above the side windows this was also added. Working closely with Railtec we have the decals just right even down to the faint grey lines in the logo. Big thanks to Steve.

Also new to Ballykay this week is 8113 which had to be weathered of course. I now have 111 Great Northern, 112 Northern Counties, and 8113 Belfast & Co Down which is great as many a happy hour were spent behind them.

Anthony, did you use the lower half from an 8113(correct lights) and the cabs(correct size yellow front) from a 112 to create 111? Lovely job on it.

Yes Mate it was the bottom half of 078 as I wanted the bigger marker lights on 078 as she ran with them and the small IE logo for a lot longer that the small marker lights. The top half was 112 and was renumbered. As far as I'm aware 111 now has the bigger yellow face so you could just renumber another 8113 and renumber her 8111 (Railtec do a decal for this including the 111 class name plates) as I think she now also carries the new number system of 8111. BTW I forgot to say that if you are going to swap bodies you have to swap out the complete lower section as the metal chassis is different to accommodate the smaller marker lights compared to the bigger marker lights. If you need any more help just let me know.
