Removing Paint

Question

I'm sure this has been answered before so my apologies. I've sprayed something with yellow motor paint and have made a balls of it (an inspection car type thing).

I have tried nail polish remover, white spirit and cillit bang but the paint seem to be made of Kryptonite and won't budge. Any suggestions? Cheers.

I've resprayed a few things without stripping . They seem to come out grand without detail loss etc. Is stripping always necessary, I ponder ?

Apparently not, but probably depends on each case. I just primed with Halfords plastic grey primer directly over the existing Hornby paint on the coaches I resprayed back in March, and they turned out ok.
