About the same cost as a new diesel locomotive from my understanding. I assume the amount will be raised from a mixture of sources including corporate sponsorship, grants if any are available, as well as interested individuals like myself. Once it is in operation, the loco should also contribute to its own upkeep. Is this not how all heritage railways work?

If you read Steam Mag you will see endless pleas for Donations for this that and the other. The income for Passengers seems to just about keep their head about water so they will defo need some other income flows.

My very thoughts when I saw the stock and the distance involved, doubtless people will enjoy the experience, it's just not for me!

The 21st century version of standing in an open wagon enthusiasts' special.

Dish out the Hardship Minister but cannie take it!!! :)

Ah Starting from Cork! Its not in the Blurb at the start! An overnight cost involved in Dublin kills it for me TBH.

  3. Interesting, Was taking to a Revenue officer that looks after the imports of HVO and mentioned that the Chinese HVO imports are being scrutinised by the EU.....Because it contains so not so special ingredients. Wonder is the IR stuff from China.

300 Trees?, Surely that should be Saplings, These won't properly offset for many a year but delighted some are planted rather than them being continually cut down all over the countryside.

    Hi folks,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We shall look into it and talk to the factory when they return from the Chinese new year break.

    Cheers!

    Fran

Hope u get sorted Fran. , still smashing coaches though. Bit of a headache as they are wired too, is it a soldered join to the pick ups?

Is it just me, or do the bogies on the last coach in your train stick out a bit more than the first two?

Only viewing on my 'phone so it might just be my screen!

Six or seven year old BlackBerry doesn't have the biggest screen.

    😂😂😂

I checked and you are right, The bogies are Narrower on the 'BR' stock and wider driving trailer.

Also checked the Grill and Genny and they have the wider bogies.

I wont be doing it but thought these were all convertible to 21mm

  6. My RPSI and the NIR blues arrived today and whisked out of sight...

Had a quick peek before she arrived home and I love the Etch End plate in the RPSI pack. Bit of reading too included.

Both Look amazing, Bag of bits like a mini kit  and the Presentation is 1st Class.

Can wait to see them running with the Lights etc. No doubt these Vids will spring up shortly on utube

Shame that,, Would be a great prospect to get people in Waterford on it rather than going all the way out to Kilmeadon.

I thought the tracks were nearly all the way into the old south terminus looking at the OSI map they are?

Steam is exciting for sure but I hope that don't change the loco too much from what it is now.

Mmm Wonder will they enclose the Cab.

Would they of not been better of building a new one rather than a museum piece. I hope this does not go wrong and end up in the shed for years.

WSVR has been around for 20 years so odds look good it should have a future, in part thanks to the footfall from the greenway. No press release from the charity yet so no info on the business plan released either.

I quite a boring run tbh. Suits a casual vsitor.  It needs to go into Waterford to make it anyway good. Been on it twice. was enough.
