I'm thinking this could be a 'top tip' I'm pretty sure that the Sligo & Donegal Junction would have acquired one if it appears. In RPSI days seen all over Ireland. JG Dewing photographed it at Coleraine April 1970.

if it was to allow an rpsi sales version 171 is obvious as the rpsi main identity loco and due to come back shortly into service

  2. still pleanty of buses that could be done with the olympian casting including some private operators in ireland . lots of aoas as well but some of these would have licencing issues like coke pepsi manhattan smarties etc . there are a couple of cie ones not done yet such as nitelink and travel 10 . there is also the test dublin bus liveries and the raillink guinness buses. an interesting seller might be a super city swift with a transfer set for doing one of the routes so you could have all the flyers on a sheet which would increase sales 25a 27 41 46a as well as the plain option.  the big seller possibly involves a change to the casting to do the open top variant

  3. 3 large boxes arrived made into 2 when packing removed so looked better for herself. well never thought id like mk2s as much as now. the extra details on the rpsi mk2 with the central locking lights put the original set to shame . the booklet and cert are also lovely touches. now just to add the diner window decal to finish it

its an improvement definatly  but not been able to move the intercity wording and narrowing the band is what  stops it i wonder is thee a transfer out there that could replace the band and writing if removed. also from looking at photos it appears the windows frames  were black not silver

  5. its a pity the gene van is wrong looking at the photos not only is the black band too short but you cant fix the model as the intercity writing is also in the wrong place as well as the band then been also wrong. normally paddy gets it right so i wonder is this a factory issue using the original design especially as paddy had been told by numeroous individuals and he does listen

  6. no matter what derek releases it will sell however as he has to stump up the money before he even gets them he has to be sure he gets a return the original blue cream atlanteans sold slowly the dublin bus green went on preorder.

i would love to see a driver trainer or bus eireann or city tour van hool but is there enough of a market to sell i believe he has to do 200 minimum of the same paint livery for production decals allow the batches of 50 units but the base is the same.

so the question would be would 200 bus eireann white reds or 200 driver trainers sell or even a tour one .

to me if another batch of van hools get done it will be dublin bus green ones but i think derek will be doing something later this year probably announce by oct show as he normally does

  7. if looking at speculation

we know paddy murphy is doing the 141 071 201 and mk 3 at some stage he always delivers even if it takes time

irm has said 4 diesels and 2 steam does that include the 071 201 and 141 if not are we looking at c class maybe a D G or E class shunter or even a hunslet.

i reckon 2 of those diesel projects are railcars possibly the 80 class which makes sense and another modern irish one possibly 29000

steam will be interesting as there are multiple choices and the u ug gsr472 and the j15 classes  by OO works show the interest is there but will it be 2 preserved types and even then there are so many choices between rpsi downpatrick and cavan choices but i think no 4 is a fairly obvious one to do.

carraiges will we get another woodener possibly the laminates as either other modern choices involve dvts to be done mk4 and dietrich sets but these would at least have ready made locos to pull them.

i would love to see the mk1 generating vans done finally and more irish accessories like irish oo scale figures including railway bus  staff gardai and irish fire/ambulance  personal  to match the oo vehicle range available.

the only area that irm is still to break into is the emu area and nothing in the post says it will happen but maybe in a couple of years a dart or a luas tram will appear

  8. Hi all

A lot of you are hopefully travelling on the premier rose which is going to raise money for various railway organisations in Ireland.

Now one of the things that will be happening is onboard raffles .

The more free prizes we can get the more money is raised for the groups so all im asking here is if anyone has any railway item that they wish to donate as a raffle prize then get in touch .

    thanking you all in advance

Is there a market for HO scale models of Irish road going vehicles? Have seen a number of examples down through the years.

seeing as the german manufacturers are the only ones that do a lot of vehicles that have travelled here it would be welcomed pity we cant convince them to do 1/76

I have one , its a very good model and may in later years become more valuable. 00 works only do very limited runs and I believe once only. Just a thought.

yep we all wish they would redo the gnri locos
