  1. I told him.

I do not know what it is but it not CDR

The type is wrong they never had an 0=6-0

The Gauge is wrong it should be 12mm

    The colour is wrong.

    His reply.

Branchlines does a fret for the central buffer, chopper-type couplings.

Yes. As already stated. But those of that use this scale don't use them, as they have no auto uncouple feature, and are hard to use.

Most use proprietary Greenwich, KD;s, Bemo, Peco couplings.

  3. The paint supplied is slightly darker than on my screen at least.

The Donegal style railcar (Long Cab and Articulated body are knock off copies of the old Anbrico unit but you do not get the wheels or trucks that you used to.)

    Anyone got the  answers?

  5. The large casting Is a frame end with the coupling hole in the centre, the other end (lowest right piece in close up) does not have the dropper parts. The kits for the other 2 wagons had frame ends cast in resin.

  6. Right then,

To start with if the wheels will move on the axles then yes, just move both wheels in by 3,75mm to give a narrower back to back. If they are plastic wheels moulded as part of the axle your a Turkey at Christmas to start with.

A convenient check gauge is the long side of the Earth pin from a UK 3 pin plug, but you have to get it central. (So as not to unbalance the wagon).

Then again a standard UK mainline wagon will look quite large for OO9 (00 scale  on 9mm track} for UK use, some Continental, South African, Australian stuff ran larger loading gauges, on 2 foot gauge but size wise you are nearer to OOn3

(00 on 12mm track) for 3 foot gauge prototypes (eg. Irish Narrow gauge and the  Isle of Man, ) than anything that originally ran in the UK

But as the main reason for UK narrow gauge was limited clearances and tight curves, a large piece of rolling stock is a major drawback.

To get more of an idea about 009 and other narrow gauge I suggest joining

  7. Find a Towbar centre. or car spares (Do you have HALFORDS etc)

The cable is sold by the meter, and you get 7 colours (Including red and black.)

    just strip the outer.

For thinner wires, A charity shop is the place to go, Old SCART cables have up to 20 cores and only cost a few pence each when stripped out.

  8. Coming from an electronics background, I have 2 Weller Iroms (So I do not have to wait for them to cool down before changing tips), A Hot Air Rework Station and temp controlled Iron.

For modelling purposes I also have 3 small gas powered Torches/Soldering pens (Again for changing tips). And a Chefs Creme Brulet Torch (Usefull for laminating coach/van side etches with low melt solder paste)

I could do the above repair in 2 minutes.

My previous answer was based purely on how the question was asked.

  9. The silver glue (previously called silver paint and used for repairing tracks on PCBs or the heated rear screens on cars when they get scratched) will conduct electricity when dry but is useless for a physical strength bond.

the alternative is low melt solder and an oven (but that may not be practical in this case) more suited to large circuit boards and chips than parts enclosed in plastic cases.

  10. Although not brisk all the production runs of the Irish 00n3 done by Pete McParlin did sell out (Albeit some quicker than others)

Current state of sales by Nevil Kent is as follows.

model railways - Backwoods 00n3 Irish range (n-driveproductions.com)

As stated lack of suitable wheels is the reason for loco's not yet appearing, (And first having to sort what all the moulds and parts therefrom when made applied to which kit as Pete had not labelled them,)

Though I have been lead to believe Pheonix and the Railcars are due soon.

  11. @BomberCountyModels The kits are due to return, They are now under the ownership of Nevil Kent (NDrive)

From your screen name I guess you are in Lincolnshire. (Welcome to the forum by the way.)

I'm on the Nott's and Derbyshire boarder ( Near Worksop but do get about ) myself and have quite a few CDR models  (along with other Irish stuff and Isle of Man ).

If that one is for sale I would be interested.
