  1. A final look at the Headboard before I "test it" probobly on GSWR no.36. then it will be ready for its probably ceramonial role of photo opps and static locos!
  2. Looks to be a bit more complex then the West Cork Model Railway Village
  3. I have a poster very similar to that youghal one….though…..I was told it was fake!
  4. not to mention about 3984029834 different liveries, introduction of the GM'S
  5. steam locos often cause fires. im told this time its just that this fire in particular damaged the signaling equipment i saw that....the provisional wing of the RPSI looking for 85 to come back! truly spit out your cereal stuff
  6. final product glued on through impact adhesive. I will probably give the timber one more coat of paint, and maybe some lacquer with the help of some good masking tape just to hide the timber which is slightly poking out. it was made slightly bigger then the plastic bit on purpose so it would take the blow if I dropped it. (Likely) many thanks to Tom Nolan And Michael Lenton for all the help
  7. Youll have to send the remainder down to Cork for the swap meet!
  8. yes that is where the photo is taken. IRRS went to some more obsure places too
  9. I can assure you I owe the man who gave it to me a great deal
  10. Yesterday yielded a successful cutting of the board I’ll use. Yeah it’s not the best bit of plywood you have ever seen but it will do the job just fine. I didn’t have a great workshop, nor are my skills at woodwork anywhere near as good as they should be. So it was off the Beal Na Blath where a better equips man and workshop was waiting the plywood came from the farmyard surplus of off cuts. Once twas sanded and rounded at the edges it was perfect. The lamp bracket came from an Irish rail lamp that was thrown in the skip, recovered from said skip and kindly given to me holes were countersunk into the peice so we could use a very strong adhesive to directly glue the headboard design onto the plywood many thanks to Micheal Lenton for helping me out with this one.
  11. One thing on my bucket list would be to make up an entire stations worth of these signs. There is just something about the GSR signage…. some people have to stick with reproductions for now
  12. Would still need an extra driver though right? And somone to detach the railcars
  13. They used the gangways on the suit lee knot railtour . @Niles might know about everyday services I presume they did. Don’t think they do it anymore. Attached below is some of the interesting sites of a gangway linked 2600
  14. I have no idea what logo it will get between The Killarney junction logo or the socket logo. I don’t think it will have modern IR logo but I don’t think I would mind a whiteout version of the logo ala the ones on the Grey 071s
  15. Yeah the unit in question is 2601/02. It still has its gangways. An authentic (ish) return of the arrow livery
  16. FullSizeRender.MOV This video was released on Irish rail social channels….whatever could it mean https://www.facebook.com/share/v/tEBTs2pmc3Jti7KN/? Of no correlation tickets are still available for the 30th aniversary 2600 IRRS railtour
  17. https://picclick.co.uk/Dapol-Class-Y1-Sentinel-4wVBT-0-4-0-No-126429565349.html
  18. A slightly different story An interesting discovery Kevin meany posted recently on the GSRPS Facebook group about some of the loco plates he has as decoration on his layout. Upon posting the sulzer plates, the group realised these plates were not like the ones off the B101 class Well upon further investigation by myself, @jhb171achill and kevin, between us we found out that these plates belonged to none other then CIE Diesel Pioneer B113. Kevin has had them for years and has never once thought about where they actually came from! So have a look at your layout bits….you never know what you might find!
  19. Yup, sounds identical to what happened to mine. And Rodrick had it repair d free of charge including the postage to get it there and back but alas it still isint working right. I love 00 works and I without them there is no way in hell I would have ever gotten a RTR CBSCR loco (the most unlikely thing ever) but it’s purley for stationary use nowadays. I remember attending the Blackrock show in 2022 and a J15 was working Castletown/ballygluin. I went there around midday and watched the J-15 completely fail meaning a deisal sun had to come in. The lads were not pleased and I explained to one of them my issues with my loco. I think one of them offered to fix mine free of change, but that was too generous an offer for me so I refused. I think they eventually managed to fix it (posted in this thread somehere)
  20. That’s it! I remember the owner numbered is 213 because that was the one named river not that flowed through foxford and ballina, where he was hoping this livery would by applied to 201s!
  21. A silver 201 is a flying snail on the side like A30 with a couple of these mark 3s
  22. Hate to be pessimistic but. Wouldn’t be suprised if pre orders were cancelled and everyone having to pre-order again via rails system. Credit card information is one of things that those pre-orders hinged on from memory
