Friday night for @DJ Dangerous 121 class locomotive 133 serves the platform with the night mail to Dublin,when loading was completed the train was propelled out of the platform and routed to the down main to allow the Tralee-Dublin Heuston Mk3 set hauled by 087 overtake-Enterprise sets are stabled on platforms 1 and 2. The permanent way crew on locomotive 049 take a break prior to working a rail train out of the yard.
  4. The Leeds-Penzance sleeper train has a brand new Mk3 and Mk1 sleeper coach in the formation tonight seen here passing through Ashburton grove.

  6. A standard gauge buffer stop has been installed on the end of the goods loop siding at the Clifden end of Maam cross station and WC cubicles have been delivered to the station.
  7. Arrow railcars 2601+2602 & 2607+2608 are seen here at the Tara junction MPD undergoing servicing.
  8. No Timo-originally green as far as I can remember-best option is to paint the interior sides and roof for best results.

  12. Maam Cross Connemara Railway Project continues at pace with an early summer opening date to be confirmed in due course. The volunteer’s erected a wooden fence today to improve the appearance at the entrance to the station, Some more 804 gravel was spread on the down platform and preparation was made for the arrival of on site WCs which will shortly be delivered to the station. In the last photo the section signal has been connected and can now be worked by pulling No3 lever in the signal cabin.

Having been inspired by one of Tony Cooke’s photos on the IRRS slide show last night-I recreated the scene earlier on Tara junction….the photo showed a triple header of locomotives consisting of 2x141 coupled to an 001 heading to Northwall from Inchicore to form the evening departures to Westport (2x141s) and the Sligo (001) liner trains

  18. Apoligies Keano30 for the late reply, These are the couplings used for the Mk2ds-they need to be glued under the NEM coupling,they won’t work when inserted into the pocket as it restricts their movement.
