  1. I note that they use the word could rather than will, which suggests…..or maybe it doesn’t. We’ll have to wait for the formal announcement. Stephen
  2. There seems to be a reluctance to integrate all forms of transport, even though they may also be in competition. Steohen
  3. Warley at the NEC has re-invented itself as Warley at Statfold on 12th/13th October. That is excellent news. Stephen
  4. An interesting photo looking out of the GNR(I) passenger station rather than into it, if that makes sense. Stephen
  5. I know Guinness was mentioned in the first paragraph but I was simply pointing ou that it wasn’t on the list of industrial sites with their own locos. Stephen

    Murphy Models Mk2d

    They’re on eBay already. Stephen
  7. It’s not the first and it won’t be the last. Some time ago Wyre Forest and more recently Leamington & Warwick have thrown in the towel because they couldn’t stage a show at the right price. Both were good shows and still missed. On the other hand there are plenty of good shows around, eg Cheltenham, Wells and Ross-on-Wye, the latter put together by the local Rotarians, not a railway modeller amongst the but a first rate show nonetheless. The point about volunteer run events is well made, never enough people coming forward to help. Stephen
  8. It would appear to be not just the UK government that is to blame for the decision to throw in the towel. A sad day indeed. Stephen
  9. We had to give Bayley renal medication by syringe every day and he played his part by co-operating and making it so easy for us to help him. No other one of our 12+ cats has been so good like that. Enough about our love for our feline friends, let’s get back to Irish railway modelling. Never before has there been so much support for such a small market. Long may it continue. Stephen
  10. Thanks for your thoughts on reducing the role of kidney failure in feline deaths, very interesting. We did something similar for our Bayley and managed to keep him alive and comfortable for a good few years. He was a lovely boy and we still miss him. His passing left a big hole in our lives. Stephen
  11. I take my hat off to you, sir, for your services to the felines of the Canaries. We had three Bengals, Lily will be 16 later this year, Bayley was 13 when we lost him to kidney failure two years ago, while Lucas will be 12 later this year. Stephen
  12. I like the cats. Are they orientals/foreigns? Stephen
  13. Some more lovely photos, keep them coming. Merry Christmas. Stephen
  14. I spent my working life dealing with river and sea flooding. The sandbags may only give limited relief but it will allow time to lift vulnerable equipment out of the way of the flood water. Make sure you know what is irreplaceable and what is not. Stephen
  15. The old route is clear apart from the building in the centre of the photo. They can always be a problem. Stephen Stephen
  16. Had a wonderful day at the Warley show yesterday, purchased a much sought after copy of IRRS Journal from Leslie, viewed the new IRM products and spent a long time at Ballyconnell Road, truly a wonderful model railway. All it needs is GNR(I) railcar set to complete the scene, and maybe a CIE one as well. Stephen

  18. I’ve never tried one myself but I have read elsewhere that they can drive you mad. Brilliant job. Stephen
  19. The brake gear under the Palvans was different to that on the Bulleid underframes. Stephen
  20. They look the DB’s. You lovely people. Stephen
