Maybe send it back and swap it for another to be sure?

Lads, my new 181 also does not sound right to my ears. Sounds a bit like an old tractor to be honest. And there is a whine above that noise. Not sure you can hear it here.
Sounds like a broken gear tooth or definitely something off mechanicaly

I agree. That reinforces that the correct thing for Paddy to do us take action against the factory.
I suppose he can claim for the loss of gross profit on each loco. That would be a figure that Paddy could substantiate.
Only if anyone has a clue how many locos are in question and where they originated

Looking good! They couple touching together with the supplied magnetic close couplers too

Thanks for that, Flying Snail. In that case they go to the north!
Which just means you’ll pay UK vat instead of Irish VAT.
Theybare due to be finished end of May and then add shipping so likely early to mid august for stock.

Was it you who said that the pricing was going to be around €250 per loco, or am I confused?
Does anybody here who has Paddy's ear know what the spec will be, regarding decoder access etc?
Will existing 201 decoders work in the new batch? Would seem a bit mad if they didn't, as there'd be a lot of confusion further down the line.
They and the 071 should be identical to the last batches.

How do IRM avoid this happening with their products?
As an aside, would it be a good idea in future for Murphy Models to collect any seconds unfit for sale, and strip them for parts for warranty jobs?
I'm sure people would buy the parts from Paddy, bodies, chassis, bogies, motors, PCB's, you name it.
It would stop this from happening, and bring in more money / reduce costs for Murphy Models.
Was that downvote for me or for Dapol, @BosKonay?
We maintain an excellent relationship with our factories, don’t use any ‘agents’ or ‘middlemen’, have staff on the ground and in Hong Kong who work for us and order in our spares and warranty parts as a separate transaction with the factory. There are also no ‘seconds’ as any mess ups in painting or printing are immediately destroyed and recycled or any bad parts are never used for assembly in the first place. In one case in 9 years a factory overproduced slightly due to an error but we were duly informed and simply bought the overrun.

I bought some Cravens coaches from El Imperio a few years ago, and they look, feel and run identical to those bought from other sellers.
(To add context, this was one of the retailers subject to legal action from Murphy Models for selling over-produced Cravens)
One thing to note with the current glut of 121's on eBay, is that the sellers are genuine toy and model shops in China.
BenBen / OneLink / Woody are a huge model retailer, selling lots of brands.
So, are they in on the scam, or are they also a victim?
Or have they bought the stock from another distributor? I know our experience is only the last decade but something like this should be effectively impossible with a good factory partner

Is there a way to tell they are fake?
Or are they fake? How would anyone know if they bought one?

I received an emailed invoice for payment today but I've already paid for the model as of a few weeks ago. I had only ordered one so if this is in error Is it safe to ignore without have to worry about my card being debited?
All preorders would have had the same email but if you’re paid already you can safely ignore / check the status at https://irishrailwaymodels.com

Quick question fran, will the 141/181 be in stock before the irish rail coaches? Got both on preorder but will make payment for the one that arrives first!!
thanks
Alex
The IE Mark 2b/c packs have not yet shipped - and are due toward the end of this Quarter, the MM 141/181s are inbound now.

Bit of a cluster, same thing happened with the 141s button many times. Don’t need to be clearing caches instead of choosing models
The button disappears when we are sold out the allocation. I’ve implemented a fix on accurascale that it shows a message to that fact instead which seems to be working reliably so i’ll replicate the code to IRM.

@BosKonay - why no countdown widget on the IRM website? That gives me a reason to wake up in the morning.........
I’ll add it especially as soon as Fran decides when the launch will happen
