  1. Merry Christmas to all IRM members. Happy modelling in 2022.
  2. Evening guys, I've just started some work on this Plaxton Bus Eireann single decker. Rather than just plonking it on the layout as it is, I've decided to try make it look that little more interesting. So, the plan of action is... Paint the interior and maybe the wheels. Add a driver and passengers. Cut the doors in half and refit, to appear as if they're open. And finally, I will need to rummage through the spares box and knock up some mirrors.
  3. Your perseverance definitely paid off! They look fantastic.
  4. I encountered the same problem when working on mine. I over complicated things, and ended up going around in circles on an 18 wagon rake. The dusting you've given them with the airbrush has blended everything together very nicely. Great work.
  5. Received my copy in the post this morning. Some lovely stuff in there. Apart from the obvious, which for me is locos and rolling stock, there's some excellent shots of the various goods sidings and yards used throughout the period. These are invaluable when it comes to modelling. Anyone else notice the Shales carrying the blue, looks to be quite similar to the original Tara's. Have to say, they look the business in that colour, and was a new one on me. I'll have to sit down over the weekend with a can of the black stuff, and have a proper read of this. Another excellent release, Jonathan.
  6. A few more pics. This time together with the ballast wagons.
  7. Nice work. I have a lump of Knightwing kits tucked away in a storage box. Must dig them out, always find them enjoyable to work on.
  8. Thanks for that, Rich. I won't be able to sleep tonight.
  9. Christ, it's like blind date, Noel. All we're missing is Cilla Black. I pick number 5, 007 with the Tara's. She sounds very nice.
  10. So, after eventually finishing my ballast wagons, the next obvious step was to tackle my plough van's.
  11. Have you got yourself a part time job working with the grim reaper over the Christmas, Noel?
  12. That's a very handy step by step guide. Nothing over complicated and straight to the point. Great finish, very realistic.
  13. According to Murphy's website nothing has changed regarding the 201's. Still showing as late 2021 early 22. As for the Mk3's, that's anyone's guess. I don't count the months or days for the release of a model anymore. When they arrive, they arrive.
  14. We're all entitled to our opinion, but have you got any 201's? I was never a fan of the prototype, but I've half a dozen of the model. Great detail, decent runners and have never given me any trouble. Not sure what the obvious inaccuracies you refer to are, but is any model perfect?
  15. Very impressive finish on the Tara's, especially on and around the lids. The Bubbles look great too.
  16. Without doubt, my favourite spot for updates from the Junction.
  17. 192 & 143 are two of my own favourites. Lovely stuff.
  18. I've probably said it before, that this layout is way outside my era of interest. But I just can't help liking it. Brilliant as always.
  19. It'll be a quieter place without updates from Ballyercall. One of my favourites on here.
  20. Not a big fan of DMU's generally, but a 2600 would be something special. I've a soft spot for them.
