One or two random anorak photos from last Tuesday, the 26th, around the port in Santa Cruz...
Friday night, and we have some container porn. Perfect.

Lovely stuff, Darius. It's a highly detailed kit. They look the business when finished.

The 00:01 Athenry-Limerick bogie bulk cement passes through Tara junction hauled by 124+134
Great stuff, Noel. The 121's hauling cement have always been a favourite of mine.

Eh, I'm a connoisseur of chocolate. I love my Star Bar. That is not chocolatey.

They are pretty cool but in reality once warmed up most diesels don't produce these huge plumes of smoke at high revs. The water vapour generation would need more complex control to be realistic, fading out as the revs increased, back in at medium revs then out again at idle. Only a cold engine would typically belch smoke throughout the rev range. Simply coupling the sound frequency to the generation rate may not work that well. The water also has to land back on the layout so that's something to bear in mind.

Great thread, Philip. Excellent images and info shared by the group.
Certain people will call it rivet counting, but I love the difference in little details like this, especially when modelling.

Typical. Dress it up as a "misguided artistic endeavor" and you get a slap on the wrist. Mindless vandalism is what it is. Simple as that.

A cavalcade of 071s pass through Tara junction on a positioning movement.
078 is seen here hauling 077,080 and 083.Really like this shot looking towards the station building. It's rare to see it viewed from this angle. Brilliant stuff, as always.

Dithering was the cause of me missing out on the beautiful 048, last time around.
Wasn't going to make the same mistake this morning, and jumped at another chance

Considering this is a re-run of a previously released wagon. I thought I'd resurrect this little gem.
Not good enough IRM. Just not good enough
I won't name and shame the original culprit.

Progressing nicely. The dreaded light bleed is a scourge for us all, but can always be fixed with a bit of work. Great modelling.

Patience is boring
Yes it is. But it's not as boring as reading the same repetitive suggestions over and over again. That's just my opinion.
Speculate away.

If you ever decide that you need to move an Atlantean off-site to make way for a new arrival.
That's a really nice gesture, Dave. I'd also like to volunteer my time and space for this worthwhile cause.

The basic rule of thumb for Irish models and IRM is simple enough though I would assume....more or less everything will be done eventually, certainly anything that existed in numbers in real life. The one offs are the most difficult to justify but at least of you decide to scratch build a one off you will only make one and not a rake or something. Anything you could conceivably make a rake of I would suggest will eventually be covered by IRM and to keep your powder dry, unless you enjoy making stuff. In which case there's no harm done.
Agree completely. If it's viable, it will eventually be released. More patience and less speculation is what's needed.

The MSC containers look the business in that colour. Bit of rarity, for me anyway. I've only seen one, on maybe 3 or 4 occasions.
Sad, but yes, I do look out for containers on my daily commute
