A multi purpose Railway Crane a complete reversal from IE recent practice of hiring mobile cranes for recovery and Hi-Rail excavators for p.w. work.

All depends on the work intended - will out lift an excavator and quicker onsite than a mobile crane. Big Mobiles often need a space cleared/created whereas this one can use the existing rails. All depends on the job naturally. This has been bought for civil engineering work, unlikely it will be used in a re-railing operation

A lot of OHLE masts and subtstation equipment to go up in the next few years.. Like you said, this will have better access than a road crane

Interesting to see the different gauge tracks together. I hope they did realise that this goes on the 5'3" and not the 4'81/2"  rails...

Its an off the shelf product ultimately, look closely to see the 5'6 rail too, although it could also be Iberian Gauge
