Fowler4f
I’m thinking of fitting working head lamp/s to A Class A1 when it arrives. Did the A Class run with head lamps in 50’s / 60’s prior to being re engined and head light cluster fitted ? Thanks.
jhb171achill
Do you mean lamps like in steam days? If so, yes, for many years after steam ended.
DiveController
Iirc passenger workings would have operated with 2 white front lamps fitted on the buffer beam although the As as delivered did not have an integral headlight

Photos in books will show this, plus other head codes; all dating back to GSWR times.

Thank you.
Old Blarney
Fowler 4f, My pleasure. I'm glad I have been of assistance to you. I'm of an age to remember the introduction of the GNR (600) and CIÉ (2600) Railcars as well as the A and C class locomotives. If my aged memory can be of assistance just ask! Regards, Old Blarney.

DiveController
If you’re lucky you can run wires to the ‘oil lamps’ instead of to the headlight in the re-engined As, maybe use the same CV on DCC, or maybe from the marker lights? Maybe one for the DCC forum

Maybe one for the DCC forum I only intend to use lamps on A1 and will hopefully solder direct to base beneath decoder Pin 8 & Pin 16 tabs.

Nice weathering job on the bogies, very realistic... 1
