The social history spans more than 170 years, taking in the Great Famine of the 1840s, the Great War, The 1916 Rising, The War of Independence, The General Strike, the Civil War, The Emergency, and the bitter Railway Strike of 1950/51.


Large format softcover (12" x 8.5"), 464 pages, ill.with colour and b/w photographs.

Out of print and the author has assured me that there will not be a reprint.
