Nicely done Noel. Not too dark, so the perfect evening scene for me. Loving that tower with the floodlights. One of Dave's by any chance?

New machinery has arrived at the permanent way sidings-but a bit later than expected as the compound has been closed for the night, the lads will have to find a bed for the night and come back tomorrow morning for the opening time 08:00.....😋

Fantastic scene Noel. That area has turned out really well. Loving the two 071's sitting in the yard, and of course all of that yellow loveliness as Rich has said,  just makes it.

As evening time descends on the locomotive stabling point at Tara junction-the floodlights come on to light up the area, as are the red lights on the rear of the locomotives,

I wonder will the locomotive fleet controller allow 088 work the oil tank transfer ?

156+183 work a pallet cement train past the locomotive stabling point.

Having seen intensive use since its introduction to service CIE ballast plough van 24851 is seen here in the wheel lathe shed at Tara junction MPD having been shunted in and hauled out by the current works pilot locomotive 226,

A few turns on the lathe and the van was ready to re-join its hopper train again.

Here are a selection of photos of the shunting movement.....the red tail lamps were switched on while the lathe was in operation to prevent any coupling up of the pilot locomotive.

A busy Saturday afternoon on Tara junction saw retro 071 arrive with the RPSI Cravens set while working the Emerald Isle Craic express tour from Galway to Westport,

222 has arrived at platform two hauling a Mk4 set on a down Cork service,

6101+234 await the signal to proceed from platform one,

0117072 roars through the up main road with the heavily laden Tara mines ore train.

2607+2608 await passengers off the down Cork service over on platform four, this railcar normally serves platform three but was diverted at the request of the RPSI on board train manager who required the longer platform for loading of supplies.

As the darker evenings rapidly approach, the addition of more lighting to the layout has really added to the whole area,

With the mouth-watering prospect of running bogie liner and fertiliser liners along with the forthcoming 001 and 121 locomotives in the night time scene- its a thing I'm really looking forward to,

Here are a few photos of some late evening operations on Tara junction

We see 2607+2608 depart from the station on a Cobh working, while over on the permanent way siding the driver and guard prepare locomotive 175 and  their ballast train for departure.

Night permanent work seen locomotive 175 hauling the two axle ballast hopper train around the layout dropping ballast at various locations,

Meanwhile locomotive 071 arrived at the permanent way sidings to work the Sperry train but a fault arose and the locomotive was replaced by 073.

In preparation for some extra weekend freight liner operations a selection of locomotives were brought to the Lakeview servicing facility to receive fuel, oil and water,

The addition of some lighting on the two pit roads now gives the opportunity for under frame and fuel tank examinations to take place,

Here we see locos 203 and 177 receive attention while locos 187 and 146 await their turn,

187 will be paired up with 177 and it will then be up to the locomotive fleet controller to allocate them to a liner train.

Super story scenes as ever. Reeks of atmosphere. Can almost imagine damp dew on the locos outside the shed and on the ground.
