The Ramble Inn, Halfway, Cork

I passed by the Ramble Inn at Halfway on the N71 in Cork this afternoon.

I noticed that the various bits of railway stock (the brake van, bulleid wagon, etc.), which were visible from the roadside, have all disappeared from view. The site looks like it's being cleared out!

See some of my photos below from some years back.

Does anyone know what has happened to them?

Thanks

Perhaps they been moved to Waterford for the Waterford/Rosslare preservation scheme - that old GSWR six-wheeler would be a major asset. More seriously, I heard that the Halfway stuff still exists on a private site in West Cork.

Could be going to Whitehead or Downpatrick. I was there last year and there was only the Brake van. Pity it's going Always made my day.

Sadly, they're of no use to Whitehead or Downpatrick. The carriage - if there's anything left of it, is way, way past restoration; a total rebuild would be necessary. It was borderline restorable the last time I saw it which was the best part of thirty years ago.
