I like how you printed out your layout before starting to place track...What software did you use to design and print on multiple A4 pages like that ?

Hi there Chevron. It's software designed specifically for the Mac - it's very intuitive, and as you can see from some of the pictures it enables you to print out sheets (or specific selection of them, which is useful if you're only making small changes to a specific part of the layout) in full scale and it has the majority of Peco track elements. I can't tell you the pain that the software avoided, and when I put the plan out on the baseboards full-scale it gave me a good sense for how the finished article was going to look and where I could plan for future extensions. Having the Peco part numbers was a massive help for creating the shopping list and also keeping waste (cost) down. I'm going to use it again in the coming weeks/months for planning my new layout here in Kilkenny.

Forgot to mention, it called RailModeller, and it does have the Hornby track profiles as well as Peco (Peco is displayed as HO and Hornby as OO gauge)
