Well done lads a fantastic looking model-one of the finest I have seen-a credit to your work.
Looking forward to running them on Tara Junction.
Hi guys,
Just in case you spotted them, the 'witness' marks ( the round indents) on the inside of the hopper will be removed at 2nd ep stage.
Cheers

I am intrigued that the cement bubbles are at 85% . will it be necessary for me to sell some camels sooner than I expected ???
You know camels can't buy you the kind of love a set of cement bubbles can!

That's a lot of deferrals to 2017. I wonder if the relative strength of the dollar is putting this off?
To be fair to them, I think your correct.
It's affected me even though I tried to mitigate for it, so Lord knows what it's done to their cash flow projections.

I must admit,
Designing and helping the guys bring these 2 delightful wagons to market has brought me a great deal of personal pleasure.
However, I only saw the bubbles once in traffic and cannot wait to see a rake of them on someone's layout.
Did these run as fixed rakes or where they marshalled into how ever many were needed for a job?

I love the look of this loco, it reminds me of the 'sad eyes' the UK's class 21,22,29 and D600 classes had.
Almost a downtrodden look.
Loved the lone up of them, where was that taken?

Hello everyone,
Just to tease you some more and perhaps make you push the boys for a second run take a look at these i took on my photo survey of the wagon when i was over the other month.

What's worthy of note is the different positions of lettering and numbering, plus one with the 'rolling wheel' emblem on it too.
These guys can and probably will, if your nice to them, produce you an unheard of amount of differences of an almost standard wagon livery at launch.
Oh, and i'll be pleased to make them for the guys too :-)
Cheers

Very impressive lads, sold out in almost 3 months to the week! You've obviously been listening to what people want. Looking forward to future releases!
Well done everybody.
Never did 'build them and they shall come' have more meaning.

The CAD images look very impressive. It's pretty instructive having the various parts picked out in different colors for those not used to looking at the mechanical aspect of the wagons. I think I finally understand some basic things like how the manual and vacuum braking systems actually work, the vacuum pipe diverting round one side of the wagon etc. This probably seems pretty basic and intuitive to modelers more familiar with rolling stock having had opportunity to be closer to the wagons due to career, or longevity as railway enthusiasts etc. Of course it's hard to find a shot of the prototype from this angle.
I'm not sure if the discharge doors underneath open symmetrically on both sides or there are doors on only one side only? Still working out where these are hinged etc?
Looking forward to these even more now:-bd
Hi,this newbie will answer this for you.
The bottom of the hopper is indeed asymmetrical, and this fact surprised me when I did the measurements and photo survey. It took a little time to get my head round it to be honest.
There is only 1 door per half of the hopper, opened very cleverly by the hand wheel adjacent.
Turning this operated a screw link that operates a pivot that operates another pivot that 'cracks open' the hopper door. It is hinged from the outer edge of the door, opening close to the offset centre line.
I've had fun doing this wagon and apart from 1 or 2 un mouldable features it's pretty close to the real thing. It's very enigmatic, that's for sure.
Cheers

It's been most enjoyable, especially the field trips AND the meetings over very liquid lunches lasting on average 5 hours!
