It doesn't seem like almost 5 years since I took this photo, but thought it might be useful to share for posterity. I understand the East Lancs Railway purchased this as a source of spares for its Hastings "thumper" unit. I have no idea what became of this 80 class vehicle as I don't recall seeing it on my past couple of visits.

 

Luckily the folks at the ELR are a very friendly bunch and didn't mind me clambering all over it with a tape measure, even if it was a while before one of them piped up with, "Ahh - you're one of those transfer people aren't you?!"
