  1. A15's gonna die. Not owned by JW. But some spares may be obtained for 3 and 39. Mk3 driving trailer has already gone to England and is currently languishing in the RSS yard in Middlesborough while yer man ponders who he can flog it to. The other two mark 3s are destined for non-railway new homes, bless them, I hope that ends better than the other glamping place with the BR 3CIG and jumbo jet and other crap. Sadly some scrappage has already occurred, 227 is no more (don't ask) and sone 5'3" wagons are demised. I can't speak for the narrow gauge collection.
  2. Of course, 124 did not just appear by magic. We had somehow managed to keep our restoration work and test runs under wraps, including sneaky moves like shunting it down the South Line on a public running day with 146 to avoid anyone working it out. If anyone asked, we were just checking platform clearances. As my video of the highlights of our testing shows, we may have been keeping secrets...
  3. It was a long, long, time since lunch!
  4. We’ve been having fun again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hl979Un5fqs
  5. Thanks all. Be aware that while getting the engine running is "easy", there's a fair bit of other work to do, so these may not be hauling trains in August! But they will hopefully be running and maybe even able to move themselves if we are lucky.
  6. I vote we move Downpatrick to be closer to everyone on the island so the volunteer problem is solved.
  7. And 190 started today, after a bit of debugging.
  8. No, that has never been on our plans.
  9. Opening days are limited currently, they are available on our website - www.downrail.co.uk. The ‘new’ locos will not be directly accessible by the public. There aren’t any non-family events added at the moment other than our diesel running day, but some will be added soon.
  10. Never mind all the paperwork, risk assessments, and inspections and approvals from the regulator, on top of all that.
