is this what you are refering too? cause when i found this recently digging through the links everyone sent me i was curious how these would operate without being turned, i assumed the line was sisngle the whole way and so with old signalling systems they knew who would be on the line at any given time and there fore could operate backwards. although i did see that the wife of the crossing guard just before the station died, operating the gates. Might be reaching but i wonder was it due to the use of these units and being unable to turn. only just got all this info so need to try find more information of the event. Looking at my response to two other comments i wish i had read your response before i did. this is really interesting, i need to research more aout all these different vehicles. As i said previously the stock side of the hobby is something i am no where near knoledgeable on and so your comment is gone way over my head. But thank you for the infor dump it gives me great bases to start and i knew going into this that if i went N gauge to fit a landscape that i would end up having to sctrch build my own locos and honestly while that may be 2/3 years down the line with my current situation I am really looking forward to it. thank you for all your help.

Thank you, I have looked at the photos from 1958 from the national library of ireland, it appears this photo is from the same set but on flicker https://catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000303716 I love this picture and it shows the 4th line and recently when i went diving into the depts of the website i managed to find one showing the shed at the entrance of the station https://catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000303717 but with the low angle of the entry i am still guessing a bit on the points and wether is was a single or double track coming in. I must take a longer deep dive into flicker there might be photos there i missed. thank you for the links Ok i haven't got into the engines yet, so this is helpfull, as the only clue to stock i saw was the engine 74, i fell down a rabbit hole the last 24hours with everything everyoine sent but the rail stock seemed intersting. I did find that at one point there were battery trains on the line. and there was a photo of the bus converted i believe stock do you know anything about these. i think they may have been converted back to diesel by the time they were used in cashel. Thank you Had found that map but when you go to the original it cuts off the station to the left. While you get the main part of the station you miss where the little shed at the start and also where the tracks split. The photo i put up does not show the 4th line that goes to the left of the shed on the right of the photo, but i will have a look at the you tube video and there is another reply with a photo from the rock side that will hopefully clear up the layout at the entry to the yard, Yep thats the problem with the maps, one shows the station but cuts off the entry area where the small shed is located which is where i am having the most trouble to figure out. I will try the link, and hopefully the next time i am home i can have a trip into Dublin, on my way back to Tipp. Thank you

I have become obsessed with recreating the Cashel station, since i saw a photo of the station with the Rock of Cashel in the background I can't get the idea of it out of my head. Been searching through various websuites for photos and anything i can get my hand on. There are more photos than anticipated but I was wondering would there even be the possiblilty of there being a station plan on record somewhere. It would be helpful to get a plan layout to see where the sidings were, switches etc. There is a train shed shown in one photo that looks to the side of the line coming in but another almost makes it look like a shed the train had to pass through leaving the station. Any help even more photos would help but i think i have exhausted all links and ideas to locate any more photos or even finding a station plan layout.
