Hi everyone,
long time away from model railways but would like to put a bit of a layout going again, always liked the idea of a container terminal and saw this while looking around lately.
opinions and offers to make it appreciated

Will give you price of postage if you're chucking them

11x5 is a good size to work with, guessing you can walk around it, would you think about putting up a backscene up through the middle? Maybe do a country theme at one side and a city theme at the other. Think gradients could be troublesome on a layout this size and original plan is trying to pack too much in, I was told on here think model railroad and not model train set

They are ho, just looked up the real excavator spec, 12 feet to top of cab (41mm in ho) and that's what it measured so guessing just a big machine,

The respray helped improve the crane alright. Was very toy like, Must get some decals to finish it off, I was very pleased how the scalescenes textures came out, bit tricky to have no air pockets and keeping the sides from lifting but worth the effort.
Thanks for the encouragement though, lots more to do!!!

Just wondering if a similar event will be run this year???

Suggest they should go in the Tutorial section, each under a separate heading.
Could the tutorial section be taken out of Workbench also to make it more visible?
Also a pinned thread with "Tutorial Requests" at the top?
The tutorials section would certainly be a good place for any teaching, and tutorial requests is a great idea.
I was just saying site news might be the place to discuss changes to the site. Maybe a revamped "knowledge centre" would work well

While we're on the subject of threads, why not have a thread like, "How To" that shows us poor sods just how to take bodies off loco's, & lots of the other simple stuff that I for one hav'nt got a clue to do, you just open the thread & look at the pics of the work done by the masters on here & the video's,
Definatly worth a thread to discuss how knowledge is passed on, my opinion is something like the dcc subsection does, probably site news/help would be the correct place for it

I just throw mine on a concrete floor and then glue it back together afterwards. Isnt that what everyone does!?
Ah Warbonnet, it doesn't glue itself back together does it?? Takes skills-pics please!!!

Think a thread like this might be of good use to lads starting off doing resprays.
Example 1: I resprayed this (model name) using (paint brand/colour). I added the decals I got from (name). (Post before, during and after pics)
Example 2: I am going to respray a (model name) into (whatever) livery, has anyone tried it? What paint did you use?

Great video Noel, makings of a great layout.
You have a nice long list of jobs as well.
I think I would have to hide the controller
Keep up the good work!!

Have found up the second wagon of that crane set so when I get an airbrush will have to try and finish it up.
The an post decals look the part alright, will give it a go!!

I think prepaying is fine as long as you know the terms. Have a reputable supplier to guarantee quality, a date of delivery (close estimate).

I have asked them for a video just waiting on a reply.
Have you used them yourself yet?

Was just gonna say that website could do with a 2 minute video to show it working and explain it simply, because it seems like it should be simple but ............
Irish themed container terminal

It is a sizeable model alright, built like that it’s 2 foot wide (but can be made smaller) 1 foot high and 1 foot deep. I have an old Lima one I resprayed but doesn’t have the same wow factor as the faller, nor did it have the price tag to be fair, this can be a static model €3-350 or put working for an extra €300. Good to have dreams in life lol.
pic of smaller build and my own Lima model
