-
She's a beauty Sean. You have stepped into the dark side!
Yeah I love it,the good thing is it can make it around the 2nd radius curves
-
-
Go for it. It's a beaut of a loco
Yep it sure is I'll put up some pics when I get
-
Thanks for the help lads, think I'll get the loco a it's my favourite American loco and it's not to big of a deal to change some track around
-
Could it not run on a 2nd radius then
-
Hi Sean, is that 22" radius? 22" is 559mm the closest in the Hornby range is radius 4 which is 572mm. Typically large American steam locos won't run on anything smaller than radius 4 in Hornby. I have a Challenger 4-6-6-4 with a big tender and that barely runs around radius 4.
This is a 2-8-4 pere marquette 1225 it says Performs best on 22" radius curves or greater.

Hello,im thinking of buying a american steam train and it performs best on 22 radius curves does anyone know is that the same as hornby second radius curves or what?
Sean

Looking lovely like always

Do you have any pictures of his respray?I'll be visiting Seamus's store later this week to collect my order and some DCC conversions, so I will ask him what the story is as regards further resprays of the galway EGV to either IE or IR livery (i.e. black or orange roof). -

Looks well great work

Wow great start Dave

I remember it Sean. It was a model of how the station would look after being re-developed. I think it may have been smaller than N gauge. The rolling stock resembled MK4 stock. It was a fine model probably designed by the architects.
Rich,
Thanks Rich do u have any pics of it
-
I remember a few years ago in Heuston there was a small model railway I don't remember much about it I think it was n gauge just at the glass doors where to you go to get the train.if anyone knows what I'm talking about or even has some picture I would be grateful

Try a 50:50 mix of Humbrol matt black and matt leather over the bogies and underframe of the loco. When that's dry follw it with some very light touches of matt leather over the bogies.
I use the same colours on my own stuff - http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/77-Graham-s-Workbench/page11
Thanks I'll do that
-
Sean they look great! It's very easy to over do it with an airbrush but you've got in just about right.
What paint did you use by the way? Acrylic or enamels?
I used enamal sand thinned them
-
You have done a smashing job Sean, top marks.
