  1. Not the first time he used that stunt on me Hunslet, also reckon I know now why he never turned up at a Stillorgan show where he had booked a table to show his wares

Certainly not the way to do things, especially when you are a seller at the shows,it could have an impact on your own sales and reputation. Personally, it has left me disillusioned,so much so that with his involvement with the other site members doing the RTR freight wagons, who I know are not responsible for his individual transactions, I have held off from investing, once bitten, twice shy.

  2. While I'm not a Mod I am an active member of this site and I don't like to see threads like this being played out, where there is a dispute or misunderstanding between members. Can I point out the following from the forum rules:

[12] IrishRailwayModeller.com is not responsible for member-to-member transactions resulting from contact made through these forums (e.g. 'For Sale or Wanted' and 'Swapmeet').

While it is not the responsibility of the site where events like this occur , I feel that if a member is using the site to promote his goods, problems such as Iarnrod's should be shown and I would ask anyone else who has problems with the service provided by Glenderg Models to post here and let us know what happened them.

I am also having long lasting problems with this individual and although they would appear to be worse than the problem listed by Iarnrod, I do not want to go into the nitty gritty at this point. Suffice to say there will be no Christmas Card winging its way to Summerhill this year.

I don't normally wash my dirty laundry in public, but I have been waiting on a build for 2 1/2 years with many reasons and broken promises made in that time. This year alone I was promised delivery of the build to the Glasgow show in Feb,with a member of the MRSI bringing it with them and when this did not happen I was then promised delivery to the Bangor show, via yourself Mr Wrenneire, which of course you knew nothing about. Finally the parts were parcelled and ready to be posted last month,again...

  3. The following photo's were taken in 1968 and show the last working days of the trolleybus system in Belfast, which was the biggest system outside of London. A BUT trolleybus destined for Bloomfield and a Sunbeam trolleybus heading to Ormeau can be seen in the turning circle outside the school.

  4. The 66 and 47 ones are interesting - what types are they? They are the only ones I don't remember - maybe they're the "one-offs"? All the MORE interesting, an excellent little scene. I love this layout. It captures the atmosphere of the place and time SO well, as others have commented too. Truly amazing stuff!

Thanks John The 66 in the depot is a Daimler CWD6,one of only two with the enclosed radiator. The other 3 in the shed are Daimler Fleetlines, the one on the left being the revised body. No77 is a Guy Arab,47 beside it is a Dennis Lowline,47 in the foreground is a Leyland Atlantean, behind it an AEC Bridgemaster followed by a Daimler Utility. The 3 nearest the camera in the 2nd photo are the one offs, all bought as trail buses before the Corporation went for the Fleetlines.

  5. Progress on the layout has been slow, but a new wall and fence has been built for the bus depot. Some of the various buses that were around Belfast in the early 70s can be seen.

The next photo shows a side view with the adverts that were common on the side of Belfast buses at the time.

The final image is a close-up shot of a Dennis Lowline bus through the fence.

  6. I had a very enjoyable two days at this exhibition,

It was great to meet up with Kirley,Hunslet 102 and Markle Jim,

Great layouts,O'Connell street and Bleach green looked well and had large numbers in attendance anytime I passed,

Fair play to the Ayr MRC who had a delightful Irish themed DCC sound layout-Baile dun Griffin,

It had a modern feel to it with lots of action,

Well done to all concerned for a fabulous exhibition.

Could not agree more with your comments Noel, the show was a winner. Nice to meet you and your lovely wife and aside from the ones mentioned in your post it was also nice to meet Dhu Varren and The Derry Road also.

The Irish layouts really did draw the crowds and it was a pleasure for me to see them in the flesh, they certainly did not disappoint. Well done to all concerned.
