  1. skinner75 - I had a look at the technical section but I cant seem to find the function list for the MM standard non-sound decoder. I know a small note with the functions was included with the model but all my 201s, even though they all have MM decoders, seem to have different opinions on same.

  2. Now and again I find myself looking for a decoder function list . I have to browse through various threads looking for some comments in the hope of finding an answer. Would it be possible to set up a dedicated thread entitled DECODER FUNCTION LISTS. This would enable a quick and accurate information base to be available to members. It would also enable me to see if the decoders I use are working as specified by manufacturer and if some functions are "amiss".  If such a thread already exists - mea culpa.  The thread would look something like this:

IRM A CLASS SOUND DECODER .................

IRM A CLASS STANDARD DECODER .............

MM 121 CLASS SOUND DECODER .................

MM 121 CLASS STANDARD DECODER .....................

MM 201 CLASS SOUND DECODER ...............

    ETC.

Also, some locos have function switches for non-dcc users. A list of models that have these switches and their location would be helpful.

Basically, I would like to be able to enter "DECODER FUNCTION LISTS" in the search bar and go straight to the area I want to see . (How lazy am I?)

  3. Good stuff IRM - the coaches look great and I will definitely be getting some. The lighting element looks fab but it gives me a dilemma. I like to put lights and passengers into my coaches. I use HO figures (from "WISH") for passengers  and a mixture of Train Tech Light Bars and Hornby Maglites (R7338) for lighting. I am unable to have a coach with lighting and not put passengers into it. However, I have this natural talent of partly demolishing a coach trying to get the body or roof off for access. Will the new coaches be easily accessible for passengers i.e. will I be able to achieve this without total destruction? Maybe an instruction leaflet might help me in this regard.

  6. Hi all. First post so here goes. My name is Jim and I joined some time ago after pressure from WRENNEIRE (could not really say no when he stands head and shoulders over me in his usual persuading manner). I model in OO Irish Diesel, am no good at scratchbuilding so I rely on RTR stock and ready to plant buildings, etc. Anyhow, have many questions so here goes. I am planning to build a motive power depot (MPD). I intend to include the usual items - fuel point, wash, maintenance shops, etc. However in order to finalise my plan I need to know the following: When a loco finishes duty and goes to MPD for refuelling , service, etc. is there a particular sequence of movements that take place. For example - does it wash, refuel, service in the order or does some other sequence take place. Is there a standard sequence of movements for all MPDs of does it vary according to local practice. (If this has already been covered in another thread apologies - please let me know which one)
