Bob229 Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Last year while visiting Glasgow I went on the West Highland Line from Glasgow Queen street station to Mallaig a day trip about 13 hrs return outbound to Mallaig on a Scotrail 156 enjoying the stunning scenery on route on the 5 hour or so journey while seeing a Colas rail Class 37 and Class 66 waiting at station with the alumina tanks for North Blyth, the highlight of the day was in Mallaig boarding the Jacobite steam train back to Fort William a very enjoyable journey listening to the glorious sound and smell of a Steam engine while passing over the Glenfinnan viaduct of Harry Potter fame the journey was over too soon arriving into Fort William after approx 1.5 hrs. The Calendonian sleeper was in the sidings at Fort William, back on the Scotrail 156 for the onward journey to Glasgow a journey I would very much recommend 6 Quote
