Niles Posted Friday at 21:26 Posted Friday at 21:26 Downpatrick & County Down Railway are operating Afternoon Tea trains on Mother's Day, 30th March, using the 450 class railcar set, advance booking a must (the Afternoon Teas tend to sell out fast). https://www.downrail.co.uk/event/mothers-day/ Quote For this special service, you will board our ‘Derry Girls’ diesel train at our station in Downpatrick centre, on a journey through St Patrick’s country to Inch Abbey. A Mother’s Day treat with a difference in one of Northern Ireland’s most historic locales. Along the way, mum and your party will be served a glass of Prosecco or your choice of drink at your tables, and where a mouth-watering selection of delicious sandwiches, cakes, pastries, scones awaits you, all freshly baked and prepared by MangeTout, the well-known Downpatrick artisan food producer. The train pauses at the River Quoile where you can take in the views (hopefully it’s not raining!) before proceeding to Inch Abbey, where you can stretch your legs and use the toilet if needed before returning to Downpatrick. Your afternoon tea table can seat up to four people, and larger groups can sit at adjacent tables. There will be no rush to finish your lunch, just sit back and enjoy view and the food. 2 Quote
