Saltdean Victorian O gauge layout to star at Irish show.

This year is the centenary of Guinness Brewery steam locomotive No3BG which is preserved in working order at Whitehead Railway Museum. Co Antrim. The full size Guinness loco will be hauling train rides at Whitehead Model Railway day on Saturday 9th November 2019. In celebration of this 100th birthday, Peter and John Smith from England will be bringing their Saltdean layout to Whitehead Model Railway day on Saturday 9th November It will be the first, and probably only time that this layout will be displayed in Ireland. This is a beautifully made model and really worth seeing first hand. Although not an Irish layout it should provide much inspiration for modelling Victorian brewery scenes. Guinness anyone?

Here is a link to Peter's Youtube video of the layout;

A pic of the busy yard at Whitehead today.
GNRI No85 Merlin has been pulled out of the shed in readiness for her light engine trip to Dublin tomorrow.

Guinness loco No3BG is being readied for her duties on the Halloween steam train rides at Whitehead on Saturday.

GNRI No131 has been pulled out of the shed in preparation for her operation on the Broomstick Belle from Belfast to Whitehead on Sunday.

It's all go down at Whitehead and only 2 weeks and 2 days until Model Railway Day. In case you've missed it, below is our promotional video featuring Tony Ragg's wonderful O gauge models
