Beautiful job Dave a man to my own heart and i like the extractor pipe on the router.
Thanks, when machining MDF you need good dust extraction as the dust produced is as fine as flour.

That's not good, if Hornby seek alternative suppliers they will also look to cut costs to turn a profit. Product will suffer.

A helix is a good idea to move between levels, try to allow as much room as you can to incorporate it. The smaller the radius the steeper the gradient and steam locos will find it difficult to climb them.
Scarm is a great free software its simple to use and you can create multi levels with it, http://www.scarm.info

I use a cheap second hand Hornby class 08 for testing. Bought it on ebay for €20!
