Are they the same colour tone as the ballasts or are they slightly lighter?

Interesting looking steam crane on the right of the coaling bank at Glanmire Rd. Wonder if there's any wider shots of that knocking around?

Wow, perfect space for such a great layout.

Always thought the Tivoli sidings would make a nice layout. Someday maybe.

Care to give us mere mortals a run down on your work flow. They look out of this world.

I attented a IRRS talk in Cork a couple of years ago on the Cork Macroom line. The guy giving the talk mentioned a loco that went off the rails and sank into marshy ground somewhere around where the Sarsfield roundabout on the bypass is now.
A number of attemps to recover it were unsuccessful and eventually it was left there. Apparently it was partially visible for many years and there might even be a photo knocking about. But as far as I know its still there. Don't know what type of loco it is but if anybody has any more info on it I would love to hear.

Your flying through them and they look great. Is it jewelers chain your using. The scale looks right.

A quick update on the progress of the main roof trusses which I'm 3d printing. I had to simplify the 3d model as earlier designs which had more detail didn't print very well.
I'm going to need 60 in total so very glad of the extra hand! Every 10th one will be made in brass for extra strength and these will be taking the weight with the printed ones acting as mainly cosmetic although they are in themselves fairly strong.
I'm planning on making the roof in 3 sections for easy access for cleaning etc.

Nicely done. The paint work makes it.

8 out of my 10 arrived this morning as the wife was going off to work. A half raised eyebrow from her and a childish grin from me. I had much fun unboxing and admiring this morning..I have to say they look even better in the flesh. Well done lads, trojan work.

Really enjoyed that.

Thanks for the link JB. Very interesting and similar. I was thinking of soldering metal as well but was worried about the weight. I have a 3d printer (which I still haven't used a year after building!) and I'm going to do a few experiments with that. I'm thinking maybe a combimation of metal and 3d printed plastic might be the best solution.

I was thinking of getting a vinyl from a photoshop design printed up to replicate the platform tiling. I think that will be the easiest way..otherwise alot of masking and spay painting.

I've been working on the main building for Cork Kent Station (Glanmire Rd) over the past 2 years on and off. Its a slow slog but here's a few snaps of how's she's coming together.
I've used mainly card laminated with slaters brick plastikard for the walls and evergreen plastic sheets for everything else. All the windows and doors are complete but I'm waiting to paint it before inserting them.
The next big hurdle will be the roof and trusses!! Still trying to figuring out what to do for that!
