  1. Cheers Des for the update, and the efforts you're making. Would anyone have a photo of the engine exhaust on the roof or even a photo of something similar? Any help greatly appreciated. Richie.

  2. Tidy work on the front window frames on the B Class and front appearance in general. Talk about progress, you must be a hairs breath away from spraying her? What livery are you going for? Same goes for the bus, assume a yellow livery, Noel?

    Richie.

  3. knowing my luck their sold be now. i'd be interested in any with line drawings or detailed photos of irish stock or locos, rather than books stuffed with pretty shots for postcards!

time period irrelevant, in fact the black n whitier the better! richie.

  4. The centre spacing for express points (long ones) is 50mm centres -the spacing for shorter points is 67mm centres. This is what you can fit on a two foot board, with a scale 201 thrown in for scale purposes. Richie.

(I can see fellas eyein up ikea shelves now trying to get Inchicore on em! =)))

  5. Welcome aboard Driver, I've only seen photos of WellingtonBheag, but it's wonderful, especially given that it's N and all the bashing and hacking that's required! Seeing as it's Colbert, I'll be paying special attention, and looking forward to seeing it develop. "Know what I mean, kid?" :P

For those unfamiliar with his layout work, heres a link to Wanderers photos of Wexford show last year.

Wellingtonbheag is a new N Gauge layout by Paul Deere from Carlow. It is based on the Wellingtonbridge Station on the mothballed Rosslare Strand - Waterford railway. The layout features landmarks associated with the line such as the Beet Loading terminal, Snow Hill Tunnel and Ballycogley Bridge. Sun 08.04.12

    Richie.

  6. Lads, please keep the commentary coming. I'm working on one also for a Client, but have yet to receive the Class 55 chassis & motor, so it's great to be able to see the potential solutions before I get stuck into that side of things. Richie.

  7. These three below possibly belong in their own thread, but since they were unusual, I thought I'd pop them in here. Mods, feel free to move if you to a historical thread if you wish.

"Dublin 1914 - British Army Soldiers on Duty on Butt Bridge", Custom House in background, porter kegs at the dockside too. I have a problem with this since the bridge wasn't built 'til 1934 and they aren't on the swing bridge.

Apparently same day 1914 troops leaving Tara street Station to go stand on the elevated richochet/sniper friendly bridge...

"Troops protecting the signal box at North Wall Yard - 1911" GSWR can be made out on the roof of the wagon, and signal box reads "NORTH WALL YD".

I don't think the top two are from 1914, either 1911 or 1920. Richie

  8. I'd love some 20's - I even priced having Dapol make a run - let's just say you would have needed to sell then for 30+ each to break even!

off topic but was that including the CAD/CAM work also ( cos i could do that for nought.) With all the biomedical and pharma companies here, you'd think the guys who make their high end disposables and packaging could squirt out a bit of plastic for a fiver.... shocking really.

  9. Rich, fully agree. why there isn't a 20' flat is beyond me. I'm sure a run of 504 of them would sell, as an unpainted chassis only.

Stephen, i'd like to see that sulzer come out of its cabinet, and or even a black n tan 141, pulling a mixed rake of passenger, goods, some oils, and all in back n white! When's the grand opening anticipated, i assume we're all invited and it's BYOB? :tumbsup:Richie.
