Totally unexpected knock at the door and I was handed a package. Fantastic. The Taras look amazing. Well done IRM.

Looks like they're going to be another fantastic wagon. Now all I have to do is figure out a way of hiding some of the wedding savings fund to buy some 🤔😂
Barl, at the rate IRM are producing stuff, I would just forget about the wedding altogether.

Santa popped by this morning and left me 12 bubble wagons. Absolute stunning models. Christmas has arrived in South Dublin on November 17th.

An ICR and three timber bogies have just flown over my roof........
(this tea tastes funny. Did anyone put stuff in it?)
I hope the timber wagons are okay !

Does anyone know where I might get a list of these including the crossing references e.g. xc37 etc? Been through my books and expected to find them but no..... Hoping for a historical list the may include some that may be already closed/disused
Another way of finding them is using street views on Google Earth. It is a torturous way of doing it and will require a lot of patience but you will get there.

My ballast wagons arrived this morning. One word - AMAZING.
Well done to Irish Railway Models.

Just when Irish Railway Modelling is booming, we hear of one of our main suppliers closing. A sad Christmas. Thanks for everything Seamus.

A lovely line and I have great memories of that final trip in July 1982 when we travelled to Ballinacourty behind 041. On that day I got my first footplate between Kilmeaden and Carroll's Cross.

Bleach Green is an amazing layout. Would be great to see it at the October show some time.

All I can say is I'll be buying a couple of each livery. If they are as good as the 141s, then they'll fly off the shelves.
I've been waiting a long time for MM to do the 121, and wasn't happy when there was talk of them not being done. They'll be sweet whether they run single, in pairs, or mixed with a 141! Hopefully we'll get 124 & 134 in the IE livery, as they ran together so often towards the end
I fully agree with you Skinner. I really look forward to running one with a 141 , with the 141 leading of course.

England now clear favourites, it is now out of '' Joe's Leinster's '' control. England will know exactly what the need when they kick off next Saturday. Warren Gatland once more the thorn in our side.
Well we still have a great record at Millennium Stadium, & we can still win the Championship -
That is good to hear Wrenneire after some of the negative vibes we have been hearing over the past week. 088 is waiting to hook up when they arrive next week.
Just been looking at the new coachesThey actually look better than the pics from the MM Website
Probably pre production pics
They are only " bleedin rapid ":dancing:

They look fine models and I therefore would not knock them, especially with MMs excellent track record. It's hard to tell from web photos if the colour is correct or not as per glendergs query. Clearly there are plenty of folk delighted to see these mk2d's in super train livery. Personally, and this is just me, I never particularly liked that livery on the prototypes and and preferred IE/IR tip-pex livery, so won't be buying any, but that is not being negative nor suggesting they are not superb models. Just a personal consumer choice, I simply preferred the later livery even though I travelled more on the ST myself.
I've spent a kings ransom on other excellent MM products in the past 5 months, so I'm a big fan and delighted more Irish modelling stock is available even if its not of interest to me personally. I hope folks who've been waiting for these coaches enjoy them.
PS: On price its worth pointing out that the euro has fallen significantly, these products are manufactured outside the euro zone, and labour costs in China have risen over the past 24 months. Nobody likes price increases, but the new 201s have gone up as well. Oil prices continue to crash, so what we save in car fuel and home heating this year we can put into our hobby Tongue in cheek
Fully agree with all you have said Noel. I have let all the previous superb Mark 2d liveries go by me as my preference is the original supertrain livery. We all have our preferences and thankfully we have all had the choice to get what we all want. Like all the locos and coaches that has gone before, a huge well done to Paddy Murphy. How times have changed since my Lima class 33 and Mark 2s in the '70s.

Super train livery without the White lining not my cup of tea so won't be collecting any of those. But will continue collecting more of MM superb Cravens (and IFM park royals). Already have a nice rake of MM mk2d in later white lined liveries. But I know some are really looking forward to the ST coaches.
Who would have thought that we would be able to pick and choose what livery Mark 2s we would want. I have been waiting for the original Super Train Mark 2s so hopefully the wait is nearly over. How times have changed since I got my Lima Mark 2 set with the class 33 in the 70s !

Thanks. Hopefully I will catch up with it somewhere .
I don't have the exact time to hand but its about 14:30 -
Thanks Snapper, Any idea of the time the ECS leave Wexford ?
ECS Rosslare Strand to Waterford via the South Wexford -

Richie, I have tried emailing you a couple times - I have not yet received those headboards. I hope there is not a problem.
Alan
I remember us talking about these wagons last year Richie, and what you and Des have created between the two of you is one of the finest designed etched kit's I have seen. Great work on putting the kit together also. Times are getting exciting. Between your MK1 Weedspray coach, and these wagons it has raised the bar again. A proper Weedspray train is now possible with a freight liveried 071.Amazing work,
Rich,

Superb picture taken in those great days when we had so many real trains.
So those C Rail Bells would look right at home on them? Nice![/quoteYes right at home here is a picture of mine that was used in the IRRS journal 138 it was taken on the Curragh on 27th June 1997 of an evening 1940 Nth Wall to Waterford liner

Hi all, anyone on here know how to dismantle carriages, are the any video's showing such "craftsmanship" or is it just trial & error, I have a Lima MK1 ready for destruction,
There are plenty of recent pics ( and probably videos ) of the Mark 3s having a bit ' of work' done on them. I cannot help you thankfully
as I only have photos of them doing what they were meant to do - Carry Passengers !

Would everyone just relax. Our railway system is now so boring any change is welcome. When a new paint scheme is chosen everyone is up in arms. The 71s got hammered when the Freight livery appeared, the 71s got hammered when the slate grey livery appeared. They are still the 71s. I think the 29s are the most horrendous things to ever run on our railways next to the Dutch vans and the NIR Castles ( my opinion ) but we are stuck with them and have to accept them so a bit of paint will have us all going out to photo them. Forget the past.

So what is left in Dundalk ? Are the Granaries and Sally Park next ?

Nice one Garfieldghost !!!
