  1. Looks to be about 60ft x 30ft. Still enough space for a hefty layout! Does anyone know who they have selected to handle the model making?

I have to say, if the original layout is pretty much a total rebuild, I'd much prefer to see a monster OO gauge layout.

  2. Any chance of a view of the CAD, just to give us something to hang on to?

    Hi Kieran,

I'm afraid I'm not willing to post CAD images due to them being easily copied and also because it is a 2D CAD drawing for an etch and not a nice exciting 3D model.

I regret that the model hasn't been released yet but I'm going as fast as I can.

  3. The CAD is now complete and I'll be looking at getting some test etches done shortly. I only anticipate minimal amendments will be required once I get my hands on the test etches. I'm aware that it is taking a lot longer than originally planned but unfortunately progress through remaining orders for railcars and DDs is extremely slow due to overtime at the day job that cannot be avoided. Apologies for this. I know it's frustrating for you guys!

  4. how do you mean , code 100 is nearly twice the height of code 55 are you talking about peco N gauge or HO gauge track

    thanks

He means that the rail is cast lower down in the plastic sleeper casting so that only an effective code 55 protrudes above the sleepers. So when you remove the plastic you'll simply have code 100 rail left in your hand.

  5. Hi David, that would be nice but I have a feeling that unfortunately the body on that one is a custom job already. Otherwise, while not up to your caliber, would still have a go.

Yes, if MM landed have a dozen 121 liveries in the morning, I'd buy one of each. I'm sure they'll be beautiful if they come, just not sure when

Yes you're right. I looked into it and it's actually a body kit for a GL8. According to the dimensions on their website is is very definitely 1/87 scale and wouldn't work at all.

Would you not just get one of those and modify it to look like a 121? It even has the vents in the right place and the correct number of steps on the bonnet sides. A little bit of cutting and shutting, along some detailing and a nice spray job, will have that looking like a nice 121.

Or... Wait for the MM 121 to come out?
