Evening!
Hope everyone is keeping well these autumn days....
Looking for some advice, if that's okay?
Recently purchased two second hand MIR resin class 201 locomotive bodyshells which are partly painted & i would like to get them painted sometime.
Is there a way that you would recommend to remove the paint without damaging the resin?
As you can probably understand, having never done this before, it's little bit anxiety inducing....
Some sources say use this & that, while others say don't, such as IPA, whitespirit, brake cleaner, nail varnish remover, oven cleaner, dettol, paint stripper, etc etc. Very mixed messages!
Thanks in advance & have a lovely evening.

And the second question is have anyone tried the sound scene on the platform. And how was it? Thanks for your help.
I use a bluetooth 'Onn' (Asda/Walmart own brand) speaker hidden in the Urby card bus to play announcements or other sounds. I also use it to playmusic whilst working on that section (Somewhere Station)....

Nothing. Nothing has gone to plan!
Also no Garden layout.... too costly!
Sorry....
Attempt two! - He's at it again....
But, there WILL BE a Holyfast Depot & a River Nore station sometime in the future, just can't say when.... but it'll be on a different layout to this 'plan'.
Anyways, heres the almost complete branch line station; "Somewhere" for this layout....

Morning peps,
Happy New Year!
Would anyone know where one could find a photo of an O&K Sugarbeat locomotive with the number on the bufferbeam?
As far as i'm aware, the Irish O&K Sugarbeat locomotives carried three plus liveries....
○Large painted side tank number with yellow lining
O&K No.3 with this livery at DCDR on its first day back in pass. service. Dec.2018
○Small brass side tank number with yellow lining
O&K No. 1 with this livery at DCDR. Aug.2018
○Painted bufferbeam number, possibly with yellow lining?
no photo
As to this, would anyone know of any other liveries the O&K carried?
- Me & a mate sat up past 4am last night discussing this via text
Thx in advance!
Also, thanks for the help on the "Chips" subject

Bah Humbug!
Friend lent me his loco aslong as i fixed it, it wouldn't move, noticed the pick up on one side was missing, so hacked in a little old hornby tank (which had motor problems, i'm going replace that later in 2019) & stole one of its pick ups, the tender loco smoked up. Decided to replace the motor, new one didn't fit in the shell.... replace both pick ups? - No movement & no smoke (its not suposse to smoke anyhow). Any ideas??
Images show it with new pickups wired in place of the old ones....

It would just be a matter of soldering the tts chip to the speaker. But the tts decoders are 8 pin so you’d need an adapter to fit it into the 21 pin socket. And then you would still lose some of the lighting functions.
Ahh, sounds easy enough. I don't mind lossing cab lights.... pointless for my shunting layout anyways.

Theres enough room in the 201 for the TTS speaker, maybe i should keep that one instead?

Assuming it has the right number of pins you can plug in any sound chip in theory.
Ah, but the TTS chip has built on speaker

I have a MM Class 201 DCC & DCC Sound Ready, I also have a Hornby TTS Class 67 sound chip which has a speaker attached.... you see where this is going?
If one wanted to "plug in" the 67 sound chip to th 201 (which already has a speaker), how would one do this?
Thx in advance!
Side note: i'm not going to buy a MM CL201soundchip, its too dare at the moment for me....

There is a page on Facebook {FB} which I have been following from the start after a friend shared it. The page gives a insight & a look behind the sences of the Ambulance service in Northern Ireland, better known as the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service or NIAS for short. At this point, your problay thinking i'm just going on about NIAS's own FB page, but im not (although, i do recommend following them), the page i'm talking about is actually called The Teddy Medics.
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2022505857994836&id=1986675954911160
The paramedics & tech's behind The Teddy Medics use hand-knitted teddys (which are based off NIAS personal) in a fun, funny & creative way to give a look behind the sences of a everyday life of a paramedic & tech within the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service....
I highly recomend checking them out!

You could have great fun with this idea!
A practical use for Photoshop might be for a model-maker who was building something and wanted to see what it would look like in various liveries or detailing (e.g. different cabs on a steam engine) before committing it to permanence....

Good Morning, Good Evening & Good Afternoon Ladies & Gentlemen,
I write this post this morning to ask if anyone has a copy of the route add on by Making Tracks for Microsoft Train Simulator (MSTS) of the Belfast to Dublin line (& Navan, Alexzander Road lines) called Irish Enterprise South (part 2 of the two part add on) & if by any chance if they also have the expansion pack for this route, 'Irish Enterprise Expasion' & if so, would anyone be willing to sell or lend me a copy please?
I did have the two, but I seemed to have missed placed them & can not find them after alot of hunting, though, i do still have the part 1 of the route.
Thank you in advance.
The image is the cover of the Irish Enterprise Expasion.

Hello,
I have a friend selling a few boxes of original Hornby Trains O Gauge track for Hornby Trains clock work Trains with a few track accerises & she asked if I could ask for a price guide on these. They are all in their original boxes but are '2nd' hand items.
Any ideas? -. Thanks in advance, Tony.

With most of Irish Rails 071 Class overhauled and the wrong side of 40 years old, I was just wondering about the status of NIR's 3 members of the class (111,112,113).
Are they in good condition and are they seeing much use these days?
What is the bodywork and paint like, for example?
I belive they are in a good condition, as the went through a over haul not too long ago. They currently see a lot of PWD work and the odd RPSI rescue mission. If I remember tomorrow, i'll post some detailed photos of em' from my last depot tour in YRD in 2016.

Buy an athearn sd 9 chassis they re a pot cheaper than using a 071 chassis
Cheers! Will do that!

Hello!
I was wondering where I could get my hands on a Class 071 chasis, powered or unpowered, doesn't really matter.
Thanks!
Removing paint from MIR resin kits?

Forgot to include what I'm going to try
Good evening! or shall I say good morning! maybe it's afternoon when you've read this, so, good afternoon!
Apologies for the delay getting back, just been a ta bit busy.
Thanks peps for the great & wonderful responses & advice, I very much appreciate.
As I'm new to this whole paint stripping thing, I think it's best if I were to stay clear from brake fluids for now, same for dettol.
But will keep this in mind for future for when I'm working on plastic/metal kits. Thanks!
Would you have any recommendations on brands of IPA & strengths?
I've also seen this product come up a few times & it's supposed to be good.
https://youtu.be/VPeDsrgydss?si=o_SQPZ-od1SDOA5n
Fortunately, the person I've bought the two MIR resin class 201 bodyshells from has left some painted bits of off cut(?) resin in the box, so, can test them with the different strippers.
Think I'm going give IPA & the 'Green Stuff World' paint stripper ago.
Thanks again for the quick response, & the brilliant advice, very much appreciated!
