I wonder why 106 been the last serviced was not saved instead of 103

As far as I know 106 failed either later that day or the following day following the IRRS trip. It could be that 103 was still operable having pulled weed spray trains?

Would be brilliant if IRM could add tbis very special locomotive to their 'to do' list. Is there any chance it may happen? PS Thank you IRM for the Christmas card. Very nice touch at the end of a very challenging year.

The simple answer is very carefully with nail polish remover a very tiny amount to test at first , then apply the new decal using decal the operative word is caution .

    Thank you

  6. On closer examination though, the apparature on the engine bonnet roof of 126 & 132 is of the late 1980s (CAWS) so these would have to be amended as well. Look, these are minor details of interest to only a small few.  Excellent, excellent model and will be really delighted to have them.

Would you care to explain exactly what you mean by the numbering detail ?

    Askin’ for a friend 😉

The air brake stenciling on the cab and the 's' after the locomotive running number (126s & 131s) were features well into the last couple of years of Supertrain livery ( which had been introduced in the early 1970s). On the up-side, if you are a little younger than me and your era is Irish Rail, you could incorporate these into your layout without looking out of step with the later tippex livery. This may have been the intention.

  8. The latest liveries look excellent and the detail is supurb again. With regard to the Supertrain versions I suppose I was expecting numbering detail from the early 70s - mid 80s rather than the late                (late) 1980s so a bit sad in that respect. I am loath to attempt to change them ( removing 's' and stenciling) and risk damaging the paintwork.  Do not want to take anything from what are SUPERB models though, it is just my era growing up.

Any photos of the Supertrain versions yet? Does anyone know if these come with or without tablet catchers?

Hi, have any photos being released of the Supertrain versions? Love the 121s released to date.  Excellent, thank you Mr. Murphy and cannot wait for the IRM A Class ( hopefully followed by B101 Sulzers, C Class and E Class Shunters).

So the 121's were delivered in grey in December 1960 and January 1961, and lasted at least five odd years before being painted black?

Then the 141's were delivered in black in December1962?

So a black 141 and a grey 121 running at the same time would have been prototypical?

What livery would the A's have had between 1962 and 1966?

I've noticed MM B121 comes without lamp irons on either buffer beam. They were on the locomotives from the start. Is it just an oversight on the ( excellent) model?

  11. I dod vote for grey as i only was permitted one choice but would also definately have purchased further orange under different serial numbers ( i already have 3 of E and 3 of F). A batch of 250 of each might keep everyone happy and enhance what modellers may already have. I know a further run of the Irish cement logo bubbles will sell as there was huge demand for what at the time was a limited release and more ivories in CIE would always be welcome seeing how long they remained in that livery, many until their end of day.

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick heads up, we are now sold out of orange pack E of our cement bubbles, and at the time of writing only have 15 packs of pack F left in stock, so down to to the bare bones of cement bubbles. Don't miss out! https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/cement-bubbles

    Cheers,

    Fran

Congratulations on the sell out and i hope it helps give a picture of the numbers interested and demand there is for CIE rolling stock 1960s/70s. Bring on the greys...
