Steveb Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Evening everyone, I'm new here so have only posted once but I was wondering if anyone had any photos of Slieve Gullion on the tour to Carrickfergus for the castle's 900th anniversary in 1980. I did take some photos but I think they may have been lost in the intervening 40odd years. I bought the tickets from Mullan's bookshop (which I believe has now gone) in Donegal Place. Quote
Galteemore Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 (edited) Here’s one taken that day….https://www.geograph.ie/photo/3320318 yes, Mullan’s is long gone. Quality shop. It was the 800th anniversary in 1980, and I remember it well. I was 9 and my dad was at that point both RPSI treasurer and treasurer for the church in Carrick which was also 800 that year; I was almost certainly on that train! I certainly recall the 800 anniversary keyrings and mugs I was tasked with flogging. Edited November 19, 2021 by Galteemore 1 Quote
