Irishswissernie Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 There's been some discussion of Rail Tour fares over here in the 'Centre of Britain' and elsewhere with prices into hundreds of pounds in some cases. Whilst looking for a white marker pen (no luck) I came across this leaflet for a Railtour 150 which ran on Summer Saturdays in 1975 to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. 146 miles for 5 hours of travel for £1-50 (kids 75P)! A bargain but unfortunately now I don't remember much about the trip nor did I have a camera, just probably one or two bottles of Newcastle Broon Ale. 3 1 Quote
