Just to point out, the SW1500 is plain DCC , not sound.

Interested in Roundhouse GP50, would the couplers on it be replacable with modern tension locks? Don't have a US-outline layout but would like it just for use as a fun loco when I'm in a "not-super-prototypical" mood.

It may be possible  to  change  the  coupling  to  tension  lock  but  not  sure  how  easy  it  would be.

If  you  are  interested  in the  loco  then  I  will  throw in  a pair of NEM  kadee  coupling  which  you  could  fit  to  one end of  a  wagon if  it has  NEM coupling  pockets and  use  as an  adaptor  wagon.

Nothing  wrong  with fun/ non  prototypical.   Just   remember  rule  1. 😀

Regards

John

Respectfully, I would suggest you consider converting your existing stock to Kadee couplings, tension locks are a legacy Triang abomination.

Don’t know if I’d put it that strongly, but I do agree.
