jhb171achill Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) In a quiet moment, half considering a bit of a railway jaunt. It is possible to cover the whole railways system these days in just seven days. Anyone fancy it? All are weekdays except one Saturday, so it would be six days on the trot, one Sunday off, plus the Monday. I won't bother quoting trains times, but these are possible. Day 1 - Dublin - Belfast - Bangor - Belfast - Portrush - Coleraine - Derry - Belfast - Larne Harbour - Dublin (entire NIR system - from Dublin and back!) Day 2 - Dublin - Rosslare - Dublin - Hazelhatch - Heuston; tram to Connolly, and return to Howth. Day 3 - Connolly - M3 Parkway - Docklands - Sligo - Connolly (Evening trip to Howth could also be done this day) Day 4 - Heuston - Limerick Junction - Waterford - Heuston Day 5 - Heuston - Midleton - Cork - Cobh - Tralee - Dublin Day 6 - (Saturday service) Dublin - Westport - Manulla - Ballina - Dublin Day 7 - Heuston - Limerick via the nenagh branch - Limerick jct - Limerick - Galway - Heuston Edited June 17 by jhb171achill 3
