30 ton Brakevan.

I was looking at photo,s of the 30 ton brake vans and saw some with the full length step replaced with two short ones. Am i right in thinking the vac braked version was like this or was there another reason (rotten timber).?

Looking at the selection of photos I have, it's a mixed bag, some have some don't (rotted etc.)

Thanks Des i have built mine with the full length board so i will get another kit shortly and do a short board version.

My recollection is also of a mixed bag, though in later years the vast majority seemed to have separate short ones.
