Installing a Hatton's 201 decoder

Excuse the ignorance lads, but what is the blanking plug for a loco? Got 230 for christmas from Hatton's and got a decoder with it, only got round to trying to get it running tonight and the instructions say to remove the blanking plug from the loco socket!

Bear with me here son, I've been at the sherry,

This is what it looks like when you open the roof of your 201

The animal in front of you is the blanking plate

This can be removed by applying slight pressure underneath the plate and pulling upwards

 

 

When removed you should have a scene like this

 

 

The new DCC Chip can then be installed making sure to line the teeth up

The missing tooth can be seen on the bottom left of the pic

 

 

Now where did I leave my glass?
