    They were at one time (when quite new) intended to be a diesel equivalent of a J15 - all sorts of jobs bar heavy expresses. Had they proven to be as good and reliable as the GMs, it's a reasonable assumption they might have got more of them, and they'd have been everywhere in the 1960s up to maybe 2000.

    Also, they appreciate, as when one comes up for sale (not too often) they go for serious money. So, you will at least get your money back, with a few quid on top, an accurate model of a bus that would otherwise never be made in model form and saves you countless hours in scratch or kit building something that wouldnt look as good. When you look at it from that point of view they're excellent value in my opinion. I'm glad I got my order in and gutted I missed out on some of the previous runs. I wont make that mistake again.

    See that's where the difference is between a collector and a hobbiest, the collector is just interested in the amount of money one could make in the future.

    The first wagon is a carbon copy of the LNWR 4ft8.5 dia2 2 plk fixed side the other one looks like a LNWR loco coal wagon with a centre door. I have also passed the photo on to a friend who is in the LNWR Society to see if he can throw some light onto it.

    If the DNGR followed the LNWR's livery protocal the the phot dates from before 1910 when the diamonds were replaced with large LNWRs

I did not know there was anything Five Fut Three there at all. They have a Brexitese railbus, sister of the much-loved RB3 at Downpatrick. Oul heaps! They brought over a working steam loco from there too; naturally all narra gauge. They loaid a bit of track including a curve too sharp for any railway vehicle to traverse, locked the lot up in a shed and off they went to leave nature to reclaim it all.

    I've been living in the area for over 10 years and it's just been left deteriorate, it's a pity and definitely would be more appreciated elsewhere.
